I felt one of my stuffed toys in my arms as the sun's rays filtered in through my blinds. I gave the toy a quick squeeze and gasped in shock when I looked down in my arms.
"T-That's not a toy!" I whisper-yelled hoping the man didn't hear me. He looked asleep.
Shock registered shortly after awe.
"H-Hey! It's you! Wake up, you owe me answers!" I shook him and he sat up straight and nonchalantly got up and crossed his arms. The moment he stepped away from me he seemed to become more like a mist.
My eyes widened.
"Yes, what do you have to ask?"
"Who are you?"
"Your guardian." The man shifted slightly, showing signs he was sensitive of the topic. I quickly changed it.
"What's your name?"
"You can call me Yami."
I did a big smile. "Call me Yugi!"
Yami did the slightest of a smile.
"Alright Yugi. From now on, if you want to talk to me just call me." With that, Yami suddenly disappeared.
"Hey, wait!!!" I said, standing up in panic. He can't just leave me after finally meeting him! It hasn't even been five minutes!
"Yes?" He popped up.
"Y-You're a ghost?" I stammered.
"No, not exactly. I'm not dead more of like into a sleep state.. My soul have been separated from my body."
I nodded solemnly. Yami turning to leave when I launched myself into a hug, as his body stiffened.
Long arms wrapped around me, surprisingly warm. My head fell into the crook of his neck into a long, hug.
"Goodbye.." Yami said. He said something else in a whisper I didn't hear, and then disappeared.

"Checkmate, Tristan!" I said moving my knight into place on the chess board.
"Aww man!" Tristan exclaimed.
"Another one, Tristan? What's that, five losses in a row now?" Téa said entering the room with a tray of tea and biscuits.
"Really Téa?" Joey said gesturing towards the tray.
"What! I like tea and biscuits!" Téa said defensively.
"I know but we're guys Téa!" Tristan said tucking the rest of the chess pieces back into the box.
"I don't mind.." I said quietly while Joey rolled his eyes.
"Yugi, your the kindest spirit on the planet you can't ever complain!" Joey said lightly whacking me on the arm.
"T-That's not true!"
Tristan reached over and started gnawing on the biscuits. Tèa sat down next to me and turned on the television.
"You are really nice, but maybe just a little too nice. For your own good, ya know?" Joey said raising a brow at me. I felt my face getting hot.
"No Joey, I don't know."
It was an awkward afternoon after that. I kept silent no matter how many times my friends tempted me to speak. Eventually they gave up, and picked a movie on Netflix.
"Téa, why did I agree with Jane Eyre again?" Tristan said, while Joey snuck the popcorn from Tristan's hands and stuffed his face.
"I said if we don't watch this one, I'd scratch out your eyes and stuff them up your noses so when you sneeze it'll be eyeball bits." Tèa
