"Mac, I'm telling you he's fine. Ashton is just hanging out with the band. You can come over and wait for him if you'd like," Lauren, Ashton's sister, says.

"Thanks mate. You know what? I think I might just take you up on that offer," Mac replies.

Mac hurries to get ready. She hasn't seen Ashton in over a month and she wants him to see what he was missing out on. Ever since grade school, she has had a crush on Ashton, but she knows he would never feel the same way about her. To him, she was like a sister.

When Mac gets over to Ashton's, all the lads are there.

"Hellloooo Mackenzie," Michael greets very flirtatiously. "You are looking fine today."

Mac hears one of the boys whistle in the room.

Michael's reaction was something she was used to by now. All the boys flirted with her. Except Ashton. He was different.

"Not now, Mike," Mac replies, "Where's Ashton? And would you stop calling me by my full name? It's weird..."

"You heard her, Mike, you can't call her Mackenzie," Calum responds, "Anything else is fine" Calum winks at Michael.

"Ugh! You guys are so immature!" Mac shoots back, "You can't take 5 seconds to answer a question before you have to flirt with me."

"Heyyyy 5 Seconds! OF SUMMER!" Michael shouts, "Get it? Because that's our name?"

"Yes, Michael," Luke responds, "We all get it. And Mac, Ashton is upstairs getting something. When he heard that you were coming over, he ran upstairs saying that he'd be right back."

"Oh thank you Luke, for actually answering me. You are my new favorite." Mac says.

"Wait a minute! YOU HAVE FAVORITES?! BEFORE THIS WAS I YOUR FAVORITE?!" Michael asked.

"Sure," Mac replies sarcastically, "You keep thinking that, and I'm going to say hi to Ashton."

As Mac goes up the stairs, she can hear Calum and Michael arguing about who used to be her favorite. Mac chuckles to herself.

When Mac gets to Ashton's room, she knocks on the door.

"Ash," Mac asks, "You in there? It's me."

The door swings open, and Ashton is standing by his dresser, clothes scattered everywhere.

"I told the lads to keep you downstairs until I was ready..." Ashton says.

If almost by cue, the three boys run into the room.

"We, uh, were supposed to, uh have you wait downstairs..." Michael pants.

"Yeah, great timing, guys" Ashton replies, "Now can you please take Mac downstairs so I can get ready?"

"Ash, why do you need to get ready?" Mac asks, "I don't care what you're wearing. I just wanted to see you because I haven't seen you in over a month and I miss you!"

"Uh, guys," Ashton says, "Can you, uh, give us some privacy?"

"OH!" Michael exclaims, "Yeah, yeah. Sure. C'mon guys. We're going to 'give them some privacy'"

"Have a nice time you two," Calum winks at Ashton.

After the guys leave the room, Ashton gestures for Mac to sit down on his bed.

"Mac, I have to tell you something," Ashton shyly says.

"I know, Ash, I got clingy I'm sorry. I know that you and I don't need to see each other every day and all, but because you've been with the lads so much, we haven't talked in forever."

"Oh, so that's what it's about. The boys are taking me away from you is that it?"

"Well, I never said that, but now that you put it that way..."

"Oh! Well I'm so sorry that you don't get to see me all the time. But you know what?" Ashton starts to yell, "It's not because of the boys! It's because I'm dating Katherine!"

Mac gasps. "Katherine? MY BEST FRIEND?! THAT KATHERINE?! Why didn't you tell me this?! I would have understood. I think, I think I should just go." Mac rushes out of the room, tears rolling down her face. She says, "Goodbye Ashton," and slams the door shut.

"Hey Mac, you okay?" Asks Luke.

"Please, guys, just leave me alone right now," Mac cries.

Mac runs outside and down the street. She knew that Ashton would never love her like that, but she didn't care it still hurt. Once she's far enough away, Mac sits down on the curb, puts her head in her lap, and starts to cry.

"Mac," A voice calls out. "Look, I'm sorry."

"GO AWAY, ASHTON!" Mac shouts, "I DON'T NEED TO DEAL WITH THIS, WITH YOU, RIGHT NOW"

"MACKENZIE ROSE SKYLIN, WILL YOU JUST LOOK AT ME?!" Ashton screams back. "I know I messed up, but I don't even love Katherine. There has only ever been one girl that I have ever loved, and that's you."

Mac runs up to him. Tears in her eyes, "Do you really mean that?"

Ashton looks at her with those dangerous green eyes and says, "I do, and I never want to see you with another guy, especially any of those losers back there," he gestures to Michael, Luke, and Calum crowded behind a tree, their faces bright red. Then Ashton looks back at Mac and pulls her into his chest with his big, strong arms. "I never want to lose you," He mutters.

"Ashton, you never will," Mac replies, and then kisses him on the cheek. "I love you so much. But you are still dating my best friend, and she would never forgive me if you broke up with her to be with me."

"Well, you know, I think it's time that Michael got a girlfriend..." Ashton says.
