Charlie's friend
"Why not, mum?" Charlie's voice could be heard from the kitchen. "You always let Dora come over. You let all of Bill's and Percy's friends come as well. Why can't he?"
"Because I don't want a slimy snake in my house," Charlie's mum, one Mrs. Molly Weasley, yelled back to her second-oldest son. "And that is my final answer."
"Fine."
Charlie turned on his heel and walked out and into his bedroom, pissed off. He didn't understand why his friend couldn't come to visit. He knew that generally, Gryffindors weren't friends with the Slytherin kids, but Merlin was nothing like what he thought he'd be. Merlin was a friendly kid. There was this thing with him always getting detentions from fights that he may or may not have started himself; it was always because whoever he beat up was bullying other students or just bigoted. No matter the house they were in, almost every student was terrified of him, mainly because of that knife he is always playing with. But still.
"Charlie?"
"Are you okay?"
The two eleven-year-olds stood on the threshold, looking at him.
"We heard-"
"-you and mum's yelling-"
"-and wanted to ask-"
"-who you-"
"-were talking about."
"Just a friend whom mum doesn't want me to be friends with."
"Why not?"
Charlie wasn't sure which of them talked, mainly because he was lying on his back, looking at the ceiling. If you weren't looking at them, you couldn't tell them apart, not that it was easy to tell them apart if you were.
"Because he's a Slytherin."
"Oh." That was both of them.
"Well, that and Percy is terrified of him like most of the school."
"Why is everyone-"
"-scared of him?"
"You'll see when you come to Hogwarts next September."
That got them excited.
"Oooh, Can you-"
"-tell us more-"
"-about him?"
"Sure"
The twins walked better into Charlie's room and sat down on the bed beside them. The rest of the evening, the three talked, mainly Charlie, about school and the scariest kid in the entire school: Merlin Arthur Hunter, a half-blooded Slytherin. He was not afraid of a fight. By the time for dinner, the twins could not wait to meet him.
