Pentagon is a 9 member (formerly 10) boy group under the management company Cube Entertainment. They debuted on 10 October 2016 after being formed on the show Pentagon Maker during spring/summer 2016. Their fandom name is Universe.
Jinho: main vocal, 17 April '92
- trained under SM Entertainment and was one of the original members of SM The Ballad (fyi if you're new to kpop, SM main vocals are top tier)
- enlisted in May 2020 (another fyi: Korea has mandatory enlistment. More on that in the Road to Kingdom chapter)
Hui: leader, main vocal, 28 Aug '93
- was in Triple H with Dawn and Hyuna
- enlisted Feb 18, 2021
- real name: Hwitaek
Hongseok: main vocal, 17 April '94
- temporary leader while Hui is enlisted
- can speak English and Chinese
- former YG trainee, was on Mix & Match (show that formed iKON)
- member/VP of the Big Tiddie Committee (I truly cannot bring myself to explain this. Please just look it up if you don't know what it is.)
Shinwon: vocal, 11 Dec '95
- eliminated during Pentagon Maker (which was very unfair, like seriously wtf???) then added back in
Yeo One: vocal, 27 March '96
- real name: Changgu
- subtitles sometimes refer to him as C9, which comes from his real name since gu means 9 in Korean
- his stage name comes from his family name which is Yeo, and the number one. Sometimes subtitles call him YW (YeoWon).
Yanan: vocal, 26 Oct '96
- Chinese
- eliminated during Pentagon Maker then added back in
- was on hiatus from summer 2019 until fall 2020, and during fall 2018
Yuto: rapper, dancer, sub-vocal, 23 Jan '98
- Japanese
- soundcloud: YUTO
Kino: main dancer, vocal, 27 Jan '98
- can speak decent English and Japanese, I think
- real name: Hyunggu
- soundcloud: KNNOVATION. His stage name comes from "innovation" and his family name which is Kang.
Wooseok: main rapper, sub-vocal, 31 Jan '98
- part of duo Wooseok x Kuanlin
- calls Kino hyung (unironically) (I decided I should mention this in case anyone who's learning Korean is confused about their ages. Hyung is an honorific used by males to refer to a male they are close to who is older than them by school year. But Wooseok and Kino are in the same school year.)

Dawn: main dancer, rapper, 1 June '94
- stage name as a member of Pentagon was E'Dawn, which he changed to Dawn after leaving Pentagon in fall 2018. I call him Dawn.

- real name: Hyojong
- his stage name comes from the Chinese character for dawn (曉, pronounced like "hyo") and E for east because the sun rises in the east.

Also, Cube works with a choreography team called Star System (Instagram: starsystem_official). They've done a lot of Pentagon's choreos. But keep in mind that even songs they credit themselves for on IG sometimes were also choreographed by Pentagon members (mainly Kino, but sometimes other members too).
