Pentagon got their first ever music show win for Daisy (WE:TH) on 20 October 2020 on The Show (if you're new to kpop, scroll to bottom for explanation of music show win). Apparently 10 is a magic number: Pentagon originally had 10 members, debuted on 10/10/16, and got their first win for their 10th mini album exactly 10 days after their debut anniversary.

I linked to the only Eng sub I could find of them receiving the award (speeches/encore stage) and backstage afterwards [1], but it's cut a bit since the speeches aren't completely subbed. I linked to the original unsubbed too [2].

Afterwards Pentagon also did a vlive where they had more time to talk [3]. Basically they said it was a huge relief to get a win before Hui had to enlist (he was supposed to enlist on Dec 3 but it got pushed back because the group decided to self-quarantine after finding out YeoOne was exposed to someone who tested positive for covid [4]. They all got tested and were negative. Hui's new enlistment date is Feb 18, 2021). Also, Hongseok mentioned that he'd been afraid Pentagon wouldn't make it past the 7th year, which I assume means they have the usual 7 year contract with Cube, and from the sounds of it they were afraid they wouldn't be able to continue after 7 years if they weren't successful enough, so this win is a huge relief to them.

Music show win: Music shows are shows broadcasted in South Korea on which kpop groups/soloists perform. Each of these shows gives out a weekly award to one group/soloist based on various score categories which differ from show to show, such as MV views, album sales, and voting. Groups usually go on music shows for a few weeks after dropping an album a.k.a. comeback (this is called the promotion cycle). The Show is the easiest one to get a first win because a lot of more popular groups don't go on it. See external link for details about individual music shows. A first win is a big milestone, and 4 years is a really long time to go without one! Most groups get it within 1~3 years of debuting, or not at all. Kpop management companies use things like wins/awards, album sales, etc to see if the group is successful or not, so it's a huge relief to Pentagon that they finally got a music show win because it increases the chances that they won't have to disband when their contract with Cube expires.
