"Hey, housemate!"

Audraya turned around as she heard Damon's voice call out to her. She stopped her stroll around town and allowed him to catch up.

"Hey, so I was wondering where your dear old brother is," he said, "I don't really believe that Klaus would just leave you two here."

He led her down a secluded alley in between two buildings. She shrugged casually, "He's running an errand."

"Does that errand happen to be looking for Mikael?"

She froze in her spot. Before she could question him, he pushed her up against the brick wall. Alaric unexpectedly came around the corner and he quickly shoved a stake into her chest.

She groaned as the wood pierced her, barely skimming her heart. Damon kept her pinned to the wall, the stake staying deeply imbedded.

Alaric handed him a picture from his back pocket. Damon held it up for her to see and she grit her teeth as she recognized it. The picture showed old runic writing; the type they used as children.

"Why is your name written in the old Lockwood tunnels?" Alaric asked.

She kept her mouth shut. Damon shoved the stake further into her chest to get her to confess but she didn't.

"Okay, better question," he sighed, "Why are you afraid of your father?"

"Everyone should be afraid of him," she strained, "He's a monster."

"A monster who kills other monsters?"

"He was evil way before he ever turned," she seethed, "Monsters such as us originals were once human. We had normal lives and we cared for each other. And to some extent we still do-"

She elbowed Damon's face away from her proximity. He fell back into Alaric as she moved off the wall. She easily removed the stake and brandished it in her hand.

"For everyone except Mikael," she finished. She pointed to the stake and scoffed, "You knew this couldn't kill me and yet you tried anyway. A truly foolish mistake you've made just now."

She took a menacing step towards the pair but she stopped herself. If she killed someone while Klaus was away, he'd surely be mad. But it didn't mean she couldn't hurt someone.

She continued her stride closer and pulled Damon close by the collar of his shirt. Alaric fearfully stayed back as she plunged the stake into his stomach. He groaned loudly as blood gushed from the wound.

"I'll give you a fair warning, Damon," she whispered, "The next time you decide to stake me, you should consider which one of your friends' bodies it'll end up in."

She pulled away, leaving the stake in him. She wiped her hands on his shirt and tapped his cheeks in a passive aggressive goodbye gesture. She sauntered out of the alley and disappeared around the corner.

When she was sure that she was out of earshot, she pulled out her cellphone and dialed Rebekah's number.

"Thank God, I was just about to call you," Rebekah sighed in relief, "Elena-"

"Let me guess," she interrupted, "Showed you a picture of our childhood cave and asked about Mikael?"

"Exactly...how'd you know?"

"I had a similar experience. Only I got staked. Are you hurt?"

Rebekah said she was fine. The sisters could feel the rising tension and worry through the phone. Audraya of all people was the most concerned with Mikael's return, especially since it changed the future reunion of her family.
