"Good news...Klaus is joining us."

Audraya looked up from her glass as Damon entered the living room. He shoved his phone into his back pocket and frowned, "Actually...is that good news or not? I can't tell these days."

She grinned and stood up. She followed Damon out to his car and got in.

"I still can't believe he isn't dead. I mean seriously, this guy refuses to be put down!"

She shrugged in agreement as he drove down the road towards the hospital. She propped her feet up on the dashboard halfway through the drive and got into a comfortable position.

"I couldn't help but hear the tiny voice of Elena upstairs," she began, "How did that go?"

"None of your business."

She laughed, "Oh, come on! This love triangle is the only thing keeping me entertained whilst living in Mystic Falls. It's a total romantic teen drama slash comedy. I like to be updated on the newest episodes of the Salvatore versus Gilbert show. I think I'll name today's episode "Damon and Elena: The Confrontation." Sounds intriguing, right?"

Damon rolled his eyes as he turned down the hospital's street. She kept pestering him about it even as they got out of the car and walked into the building. But she kept quiet when they met Klaus in the lobby.

He greeted them with an enthusiastic smile. He gestured to the hallway to his right where he had already set up a trap, "Shall we?"

They let him lead them into a storage room that was dimly lit. Damon walked back out to lure the hunter, who had been tracking them, back into the trap. Audraya and Klaus hid in the dark corners, waiting until the hunter walked in.

When they heard the sound of the trap launching and his body falling, they revealed themselves. Klaus sauntered right in front of the man and smirked, "Hello, mate."

Damon pushed himself off the shelf he was leaning on, "Let's start with the basics: Where are you from? What do you know? Because maybe you can cue me in on this "greater evil" because I've fought this guy-"

He pointed at Klaus.

"And there's nothing more evil than that."

Klaus sharply inhaled and held up a finger, "Except perhaps my sister. But who do you think she learned it from?"

She smirked and stepped in between the two men, uncrossing her arms. She bent down to the hunter's level and inched closer to his face, "Tell us what we want to know, love. Pretty please?"

"Look, the lady is asking nicely," Damon stated, "So do us a favor and answer our questions."

The hunter scoffed, "Or what? You'll kill me? If you do, there will just be another one waiting to take my place."

"You see, this is what I like to hear," Damon said sarcastically, "Vague threats, ominous prophecies, and disappearing tattoos."

The Mikaelson twins dropped their amused expressions. Their faces grew serious and they looked to Damon in question, "What tattoos?"

"Don't bother. You can't see the damn thing anyway."

The siblings straightened up and looked at each other in secret conversation. Klaus leaned down cautiously next to the hunter to examine him more. But as he got close, the hunter moved his arm with great speed and attempted to jam a stake up Klaus' side.

Klaus caught his arm and held it tightly, "Nice try, but I'm faster than your average vampire."

He confiscated the stake and tossed it to his sister. She caught it and examined it. Her eyes widened as her thumb ran over a specific engraving near the handle of it.

Klaus looked over her shoulder, carrying the same surprised expression as she did.

"You're one of the Five."

Damon frowned, "The what?"

The trapped man smirked, "And I'm faster than your average hunter."

Audraya froze a split second before the hunter tripped the wire, causing the bombs to explode. She was fast enough to pull Damon away but the fire still got to her, killing her instantly.

-

When she finally revived, Audraya was covered in ash and grime. She was still lying in the middle of the explosion site. The fire was still raging around her but she could hear people outside.

Even though her body was still healing, she had enough energy to run out of the building.

She stopped in an alley, falling against the wall for support. She coughed raucously and leaned over for air. All she could smell or taste was the remnants of dirt and dust.

"You look pretty good for someone who was just blown up."

She looked up and saw Damon, who was virtually untouched, walking towards her. His clothes and body were in pristine condition, with the exception of a speckle of dust on his jacket.

He watched as she took a moment to collect herself. His eyes widened in fascination as the severe burns on her skin healed and patched together.

"Where's Klaus?" she rasped, coughing even more.

"Gone."

"Typical."

He moved closer and removed his jacket. He draped it over her shoulders and helped her stand straight. She realized that a majority of her clothes had been burnt off, leaving only the main parts of cloth still stitched together.

"I may look pretty on the outside but I'm raging on the inside," she scowled, wrapping the jacket around her even more, "I cannot believe Niklaus ditched me again."

He let her go on an angry rant as he led her to his car and sat her down in the passengers seat. She didn't even notice that he had begun to drive as she continued airing out her problems. She stopped her comments when she looked back and saw Damon's annoyed face.

"You're lucky I pushed you out of the way," she stated, "You'd be dead otherwise."

"And as a thankful gesture, I have returned you home and given you my favorite jacket."

She looked back out the car window and saw that he did, in fact, deliver her back to her house. She sighed and glanced at Damon before getting out. She thanked him quietly and shut the door, walking inside.

She saw abandoned red cups scattered throughout the rooms as she passed them by. On the stairs lay even more cups, along with the crumbles of chips and other snacks. She tiredly moved past them and walked upstairs, heading for Rebekah's room.

She poked her head in the door and saw her sister laying on her bed, sweat beading her forehead. She instantly became worried and rushed in, "What happened?"

"I need your blood."

She nodded without question and gave Rebekah her hand. The latter took a long drink of blood before releasing her grip. She sighed in relief and slumped.

Audraya scooted next to her and wrapped her arm around Rebekah's shoulders, letting her sister lay on her lap.

"What happened?" Rebekah asked, "You smell like ash."

"I got blown up," she answered simply, "And you? I take it the party didn't go well."

"Not at all," Rebekah mumbled, "After this day, I could use some ice cream or alcohol."

Audraya smirked and stroked her sister's hair, moving it out of the way of her sweaty forehead. She sighed and nodded with a small smile,

"How about both?"
