Elena hummed to herself as she knocked on the wooded door leading to the Salvatore household.
Stefan had planned a date for the both of them, she was unsure about it with everything but soon gave in to his pleas.
She was greeted with the sight of the tall Vampire with a smirk on his face leaning against the doorframe.
Damon.
She had been avoiding him.
Catching feelings for your boyfriends brother isn't the most easiest thing to hide. She had decided it was a silly crush.
"Elena, Come in" Damon gestured inside.
Unsure she stepped in, before making her way to the living.
"Where's Stefan?" She politely asked, trying to avoid any unnecessary conversation that would be coming her way.
"He's with Vampire Barbie, she messed something up and well my heroic brother went to her rescue" Damon poured himself a glass of alcohol.
"We had a date"Elena frowned slightly hurt, as she sat onto the couch.
"Hmm sad" Damon raised his eyebrows mockingly at her before he turned back to his glass.
"Damon, It's not funny if you loved someone and they stood you up you'd understand" she walked over toward him picking the glass from him and placing it onto the counter.
"You can l- leave, he might not come till late" He stuttered. Damon never stuttered, he was confident about everything except when it comes to Elena.
"Stefan won't forget, he's just to busy helping care. He'll pick me up?" Elena convinced herself.
"What if he doesn't?" Damon says as he heads over to the couch dropping down on it.
"He will, your my friend your supposed to be supporting" she shook her head smiling,walking over to sit opposite him.
"Friend" Damon whispered.
"Elena!" Stefan called out from the door.
"Stefan, hi" she greeted pecking his lips.
"Sorry Caroline uh— she"
"Damon told me, Let's go already" she urged laughing.
While Stefan was in the car, Elena made up an excuse that she forgot something and sprinted into the Salvatore house.
"Damon" she called to get his attention.
"You called?" He raised his eyebrows, his lips in a thin line.
She hugged him, she didn't know how she felt towards him but she knew loved Stefan. Smiling slightly, she bid him goodbye and left.
While the one thing that was on Damon's mind was about how would only ever be Elena's friend.
