A/N Hey guys thanks so much for 1k reads! When I published the first chapter almost a year back, I would have never thought that anyone would like to read it. It sincerely means a lot to me! So here is the promised 1k special plus Christmas special!

Sage invites Zach over for Christmas and things get steamy with the smell of a Christmas Spirit and a healthy dose of BDSM jingle ;). If you're not into BDSM (well it's in the warnings at the beginning of the book so...)

Enjoy!

"Do you celebrate Christmas?" Zach sets his head on Sage's shoulder and asks absent-mindedly.

"Not really," he replies. "I mean, what's the point of celebrating consumerism..." he laughs, and Zach can feel it against Sage's collarbone. "And my parents aren't home anyways--I live alone remember?"

Zach looks at Sage, surprised and then his face flushes red, a brushstroke from one ear to the next.

As if reading his mind, Sage tilts his head. "Are you free to come over on the 24th?"

Zach puts the two shirts side by side--neither seemed acceptable. What about something more formal? No no no he can't overdress, he'll seem like he's a dork (which we know he is).

He rummages in his closet once more. On days like these, he wonders why he doesn't own more clothes. In the end, he picks a plain jacket over a white t-shirt and jeans. It really doesn't matter what he wore. It would come off soon anyway. Then he checks his bag once more, making sure the box was snuggled safely at the bottom, and left the house.

His heart beats with a kind of vigor. Curiosity and excitement--it will be the first time going to Sage's house. What will it look like? Will his room be neat and clean like he imagines it to be? Will there be pictures of younger, cuter Sage? Not that he wasn't cute currently but younger Sage would have a different kind of appeal.

"A little underwhelming isn't it?" Sage smiles apologetically as he opens the door.

"No, not at all." The truth was, Zach had never been in a normal-sized apartment before despite seeing it in TV shows--most kids who went to their school are far too well off.

Once again, he is reminded of the fact that Sage is a transfer student, meaning he got into their school based on merit alone--not by his family legacy like Zach is.

A lurch starts in his stomach and Zach isn't quite sure if it was just nervousness or something else.

Sage seems to notice his discomfort and interprets it as a disappointment. His smile doesn't drop but he leads Zach into the room anyways--he would make up for it no matter what. He has a brilliant night planned for them.

The sound of sizzling oil travels from the kitchen to the living room, where Zach sits, waiting. Sage told him he'll prepare dinner and that he can relax in the living room. As someone with nil cooking skills, Zach agreed. Now his eyes flick across the room--a normal one. A central living room, a small walkway that leads to bedrooms, and a kitchen on the other side. But everything was strangely vacant...from the walls to the kitchen counter, nothing to show off Sage's family--not that Zach's family was better save for the commissioned family portrait in the main hall--but Zach had always imagined something to be there. He had imagined that the best-case scenario was if there was an absent photo album laying somewhere that he could "absently open". What he finds is a strangely vacant apartment, clean and reminding him of a doctor's office.

Nonetheless, his heart beats fast in his chest and he goes to the kitchen to spy on Sage instead.

Hand tracing concrete walls, he turned around the corner and sees Sage, with an apron and cutting broccoli with swift, practiced movements. A faint smile lingers on Sage's lips--this one is genuine, not the habit he brings to school--as if he is thinking of something pleasant.
