Room 305

Room 305

I kept chanting internally in my head, my gaze intently set on the silver plated number as me and Axel waited for our names to be called out. It was the room which basically held the key to unlock all answers in my head. The door to my liberation. I anticipated everything behind the door would possibly go effectively right.

"Hey, you'll be okay," Axel whispered softly next to me gripping away the quivers in my hand which I had no knowledge of. Why was I so nervous to learn about my past? Will I be able to handle it? Will it all come rushing in or will there be trouble bringing my memories back?

"How long do you think it will take for me to regain my memories?" I questioned.

"Why don't you save it for the expert?" Axel answered my question with a question masking an evil smile causing me to snort. "Thanks, genius," I replied sarcastically continuing with my chants.

"Ms. Nora," my head snapped at the direction my name was being called out at to spot a lady standing with the door to room 305 opened. "You can come on in, now." She stated before going in.

Despite my dysfunctional body, my heart sped, pumping blood faster making damn sure that at-least my circulatory system was doing more than fine. Wiping my clammy palms on the poor legging I was wearing, I turned to find Axel remain seated. "Aren't you coming in with me?" My eyes narrowed down at him with worry.

"No, my love. This is a personal matter of yours so I'm doubtful my presence is required there." He smiled warmly at me. I nodded, comprehending his point

"Well go on now. We don't want your therapist waiting," Axel rushed me signalling towards the door which was opened ajar, awaiting my arrival. The door to all my answers is now opened. The faces of my parents flashed in front of me encouraging me in abundance to breathe easy and step inside.

"Here goes." I murmured silently clutching the door knob tightly making my way in. The first thing my eyes laid on was the two seats which I presume was for the therapist and the client. Who is me. Pretty sure this place would feel like my second home‐ after my first one, of course.

"Do have a seat, Mrs. Nora," my eyes shifted from the separate couches towards the source of sound. My therapist looked absolutely stunning regardless of the grey hair hovering some ends of her dark brown mane and I'm guessing she's in her late forties.

Politely nodding to her request I staggered my way to take a seat across my therapist. Once she, herself, got settled in front of me a nervousness started kicking in my system. This is gonna be it.

"My name is Maxine Evergreen. You can call me either Maxi or Max but I'd prefer the latter with no formalities, please," She passed a wink at my direction as her voice rang amiably.

"Hello Max," I giggled earning a look of satisfaction from her.

"Nora,"She acknowledge me with a warm smile. "How are you feeling today, dear?"

I bit my lip, my fingers fumbling anxiously as the answer which was at the tip of my tongue rolled off before I had the chance of altering it. "Lost like every other day."
