Visitor & Confession

Y/N's POV

I laid in the hospital bed, scrolling though Twitter and Instagram.

"Y/N?"

I heard the nurse's voice and responded.

"Yeah?"

"Someone's here to see you."

"What's their name?"

I took a drink of my water.

"Thomas and Toby."

Tho- Tob- what? I spat my water out, also almost choking on it.

"Uh, sure, let them in."

I meekly smiled as they walked into the room, thanking the nurse.

"Hey Y/N. How's the head?"

Toby pointed to my head.

"A bit sore, but i'll be fine."

"You'll be discharged soon?"

Toby looked at me with a hopeful smile.

"I'm not sure. My main question is why you wanted to come see me."

"Tommy -"

Tommy looked at Toby with that 'shut up' look.

"We wanted to see how you were doing."

I knew something was off.

"Oh, ok. You're really the only people that came to see me, I guess it caught me off guard."

"Your mom didn't come to see you?"

"Oh, no. Child services is taking me away after what she did to me, and on eyewitness accounts of you two."

"Oh, Y/N, that's good, right?"

Toby said, looking at Tommy then to me.

"It's really great, but nowadays no one wants a teenager."

Toby thought about something, I could see it on his face. 

"What if I asked my mom to adopt you?"

My head perked up, my breathing increased.

"Really?"

"Yeah, one sec I can go ask her right now."

He ran out of the room and towards the exit. Tear started to well up in my eyes. Tommy smiled and offered a hug, in which I took the offer.

"Y/N, this is amazing."

The subtle scent of cologne wafted over me, probably from Tommy. I had butterflies in my stomach and I was blushing, but you couldn't tell over me crying.

A few minutes later, Toby came in and looked sad. 

"Y/N...i'm sorry..."

Tear built up in my eyes once more, not ones of happiness, ones of sadness.

"I'm sorry you'll have to put up with me."

A wave of relief came over me. He smiled and Tommy gave him a light punch.

"Toby, you asshole."

"What? I'm good at acting, ain't I?"

"Yeah, you are."

I laughed as I was getting adopted right off the hop. 

After an hour of chatting, Toby left and Tommy stayed a little longer.

"Hey, Tommy, why did you shush Toby?"

"Oh, I didn't want him to say something."

"Yeah, but what?"

"Y/N, promise me we can be friends after I tell you."

"I think I know where this is going, but yes, I promise."

He sighed.

"Y/N, everyday I see you in math and in the hall, you don't notice it, but I look at you a lot and I think I like you?"

"Tommy, I do notice you. I like you too, but I think for now, we should just stay friends until I can settle in a get used to living with a new family. I would love to say yes right now, but it could just overwhelm me with my anxiety and everything that's happening, ok?"

"Yeah, I understand. Thanks for considering it."

I held my hands out for a hug, and he accepted. He let go since his phone went off.

"One sec, it's my mom."

"TOM! WE GOTTA GO!"

He moved his phone from his ear.

"Alright, I'm coming."

I laughed.

"Shut it hospital girl."

"Hey! I'm not the one that stayed over 5 hours."

He laughed and left the room. 

I checked the time it was just about 5 pm. I ate and decided to get some rest.

Welllll this was interesting to write heheheheheehhhh   heh
