Lance couldn't sleep. They had a rough mission and keith had almost died.  Now the problem shouldn't have bothered lance as much as it did. But he keep seeing Keith bleeding like crazy and barely breathing. Lance was now sitting in the control room, looking out the big window at the stars.

He strummed his guitar absentmindedly. He played back home and sang. He didn't tell any of the palidins but before they left the space mall he had bought a guitar from the earth store.

He was thinking about Keith again. He was always thinking about Keith nowadays. He wondered when he stopped hating him and started... well he was in love with him. He didn't know when or how to be honest but he was. He loved everything about Keith. And he knew Keith would never feel the same.

He sighed. Ever since these feelings started he had been singing a lot more. He even started writing songs again. Lance was hung up on Keith and he had never felt like this before. Desperately in love and knowing that there was no chance of anything ever happening with him.

He positioned his hands on his guitar and played a chord. And started to sing.

"I was too dumb to notice. 
There was something about you
What am I supposed to do
I sure wish I knew
All the butterflies I felt inside never really mattered
Wishful thoughts inside and smiles
End up being shattered"

His voice was soft and with nothing but the guitar as background music it gave the song a sorrowful and mourning tone.

" what are we supposed to be
I'm hopelessly addicted to you
But you never felt the same"

Lance knew Keith never would feel the same.

" time may pass us by
But you'll stay stuck on my mind
And that moment we stared that night
I thought it was right
but maybe I was wrong all along
I held onto something that never really mattered
Stuck on that starting line
I'm still silently quietly hoping you'll end up with me"

He sang. He was still hoping. No matter how hard he tried to get rid of his feelings it never worked.

He knew these words by heart. After all he wrote them. He hated how each word spoke the truth. He wanted so badly to hate Keith and yet he couldn't bring himself to give up on him.

He repeated the chorus once more.
