Dream's POV (Yeah, that's right, we're switching it up a bit-)
(I would recomend playing the song at top while reading because it goes along with the story)
I wheeze as SapNap and George shout back and forth at each other trying to find a strategy to win against Poppy, a person who we recently found out has some of the best PvP skills. He definitely seems beefy, as the whole reason SapNap and George we arguing is because we got 30 minutes of peace to collect items and Poppy had already attained a Netherite Axe. I decided that arguing won't get us resources so I left the two to go at it while I search for food and diamonds at least. With diamonds, we might just have a chance.
I managed to get 11 diamonds and 3 stacks of iron. I made myself a diamond chestplate and a diamond axe. I made the rest of my armor iron. I then made two other sets of iron armor and two iron swords. I then finished my crafting off with three buckets. I filled the buckets with water and brought the items back to SapNap and George, who had stopped arguing and were now cooking food in the furnaces. "Hey, you two." I came up behind them and SapNap turned around from the furnace. "Hey Dream!- Whoa! Where'd you find all that?!" He shouted, that usual, adorable twinkle in his eyes.
I smile, handing them both their sets of armor. "I went mining while you two were going at it." SapNap blushed out of embarrassment and George laughed. "Sorry 'bout that, Dream." George said, equipping the armor. SapNap put his on as well. "Yeah, sorry Dreamy~!" SapNap said, playfully. This was normal, as the three always play flirted with each other, but it still left a butterfly in my stomach whenever SapNap did it to me. I sigh and smile, "Heh, you're such an idiot~." SapNap's cheeks flushed pink a little and he smiled back. George rolled his eyes. "Get a room you simps."
SapNap was about to say something back but Poppy interrupted the incoming argument. "The 30 minutes of peace are up. You guys ready?" His voice came through the headset. I sighed. "I guess, I mean, we're not as beefy as you because these two idiots spent the time arguing." I laughed. We met Poppy at 0,0. I was shocked at what I saw. Poppy had all enchanted armor. His chest plate was too diamond and the rest iron. He also had an enchanted netherite axe. We are so screwed.
The fight started simple, with Poppy taking it easy on us, but when the timer hit the 30 minute mark in the fight, he pulled out all the tricks up his sleeve to win. I was in front fighting against him while George was at my side, deflecting all attacks to either side of me. SapNap was back to back with me, ready to deflect any attacks made towards me from behind. Poppy hadn't attempted anything back there so when SapNap let his guard down for a second, Poppy took advantage of that. Pearling behind me and in front of SapNap, he looked SapNap dead in the eyes and said "Sorry...".
Before we had time to process what was happening, Poppy's axe clashed heavily against SapNap's chest."SapNap!" George and I shouted in unison as our friend fell to the ground, the sound of Sap's shattering ribs and gasping filling my thoughts. "Don't just stand there, Dream! I've got SapNap, now go kill the bastard!" George was kneeling on the ground, a bleeding-out SapNap in his arms. I growl in anger and chase after Poppy. It took an entire 30 minutes but finally I eliminated Poppy and won the fight. Then I remembered. "Sap!" I shouted, running back to 0,0.
SapNap lay in the grass, panting. He won't survive long, will he? I pray on my life, I need him. George sat next to him, quietly sobbing. He knows too. No... I won't just let SapNap go that easily! I become angry as tears of my own begin to stream down my face. I push past George and pull SapNap into my arms, pressing our foreheads together. "Sappy, I-..." I hissed through my teeth, wanting to tell him but I was scared. This is no time to be anxious, Dream. This might be the only time you could tell home. I cleared my throat and cup SapNap's cheek, turning his head to look into his cloudy, grey eyes.
"Sap, I-... I love you. So. Fucking. Much. Please don't do this... don't leave us!" I watch a smaller, wobbly hand reach up and remove my mask. "Dream, lean down for a second." SapNap's voice was scratchy and weak. I leaned down as he asked, and he leaned up and began kissing each of my freckles, the my lips."love you too, Dreamy. Always have. Always will." My heart sank. He loved me back this entire time, and now he's dying. I kiss his cheeks, his lips, his forehead, everything. Please... not him... not Sappy, please don't take him from me! "Fuck!" I throw my axe in anger. It lodges in a tree about ten feet away. SapNap reaches up and runs his hand through my blonde hair. "Heh, soft~..." He cooed quietly. "You know, you guys are the bestest friends I could ever have asked for. You guys made my life worth while, and I want you both to know that I'm sorry... I love you guys."
I grit my teeth. "No, you don't need to be sorry because you're not dying! I won't let you!" My sobs became heavier as he stroked my face, occasionally wiping tears away. He giggled his normal cute giggle for the last time. "Dream, you can't control the death of a person." He was wrong. I could've blocked the hit when I saw it happening but instead I just sat there. I clutched him close, covering him in kisses and sobbing. "Please... I'm begging you, please..." He gripped my shoulder. "Dream, listen t-to me," He's getting closer, I can hear it in his voice. "Y-yeah?" SapNap smiled. "I need s-something from you and George. Especially you." George looked up and moved closer to hear better. "Yes? What is it?" I asked, eagerly. "I-I need you and G-George to..." He trailed off and became dazed. No. NONONONONONONO, NOT YET! I shake him a bit. "Sap?" he snapped out of the daze a bit and looked at me.
"You t-two need to... to..." SapNap's eyelids shut slowly and then... he was gone. His hand limped and fell from my arm. "SapNap? SapNap?! SAPNAP!!!" I shook him more. No, please! "NO! COME BACK, PLEASE! PLEASE! DON'T LEAVE ME! I LOVE YOU, SAPPY! PLEASE GOD NOT HIM!" I grasped at him, pressing my face against him, trying to find any sign of a heartbeat. A hand grabbed my shoulder from behind. "Dream, he's gone..." I set him down in the grass. "Why... why him? We didn't even get to hear his last wish!" After an hour of sitting in silence, George had to forcefully drag me away.
1 Year later
"Well, Sap, it's been a year since the incident... and we're sorry we didn't hear you're last wish." George and I sat in front of SapNap's grave. George sat silent, hands intertwined in his lap as tears silently rolled down his cheeks. I sigh, smiling. "I adopted a little girl named Milly and George is getting married. Thought you'd aught'a know. I love you, wherever you are, Sappy. Since forever until the end of time." I smile. "Every night I dream of us, of you, my love. And every night, I miss you more and more."
