Sapnap's POV

I sighed quietly. These people are so sweet, I almost forgot how good it felt to be included in anything. The only chances I ever got at doing anything other than housework is after school activities. Those quickly went down the toilet when father got the idea that I would've told someone about what he's been doing.

'Dream' put his hand on my shoulder and smiled reassuringly. He's so sweet, and to even help me with that man I regrettably call my father, I can't believe I not only got the chance to make new friends, but to also get out of that hell. It feels like fate that I met these people. So upbeat and welcoming.

After eating, Dream decided that he and his group would split off for a little and meet back up later. He wanted to treat the wounds I gathered while running through the woods. "Thank you, I'm very grateful!" I said, smiling down at him as he crouched to patch up scars on my arm. He smiled softly at me and kissed a small cut on my palm.

"For such a sweet boy like you, and to go through all that trauma as well, it's far less than an issue." I blush at his words and look away, mumbling a quiet thank you. After he patched me up, we met back up with his friends at an arcade. I had never been to one, yet it was exciting and everyone was so nice. They were easy on me in the games since it was my first time.

Niki showed me all of her favorite games, and Dream even gave me a small panda plushy he won. It was as if time moved too quickly, it only felt like minutes before closing time. Everyone seemed so exhausted. Niki yawned and waved to everyone before leaving, as did all the others. It was just Dream and I now.

We strolled down the sidewalk and chatted quietly. "I'll need to take you to get some new clothes soon. You know what your sizes are?" I shrugged and looked down at my worn and way too small shoes. "Can't remember. My clothes are so baggy because they're old ones my dad no longer fit."

He gave me a sympathetic look and grabbed my hand. I grinned at him and shrugged again, gripping his hand tightly. "Hey, don't worry too much about me. I may seem weak, but if I had the strength to endure all the things he did to me, and the courage to run away from that place, I'm sure I can do even better in the future. It's just gonna take time and work."

Dream sighed and smiled softly at me. "You're right, you are very strong. But still, if you ever need my help, well, I'll be in the same living area as you so all you have to do is come find me." I chuckle lightly. "Thanks.." I whisper, blushing lightly. "You're one of the sweetest people I've met."

This time, Dream was the one blushing. "What's wrong?" I ask, tweaking my head to the side in confusion. "Aha, sorry, just don't get called 'sweet' often." He said, playing with my fingers. I sighed lightly as we walked down the lit up city street. Finally, my life is getting better, just as mama told me it would.
