Chapter 7

-Haymitch's POV-

"Those boys do have a point Plutarch" I point out. "Why don't you go in their place right now? Peeta doesn't even know how Katniss is after their last Capitol video. Plus, she's pregnant! How would you feel if your pregnant loved one was in the Capitol and you have no clue how she is or if she's even still pregnant?! That baby mean just as much to him as Katniss means to him! That boy was over the moon when she said she was pregnant because she had always gone on about how she didn't want children. He wanted children so badly and he either still has one or not, he's loved that girl since the age of five, he finally got her and she risked her life to keep him alive. He doesn't even know if she's dead or not!"

"She's pregnant?!" Coin exclaims.

I nod. "Well she was when she went in the arena. I don't know if she still is after destroying the force field"

"We need to rescue them! The condition she was in when she was on TV is bad for the baby. They could seriously damage it" she says worriedly. "Set the hovercrafts and soldiers up, the girls are to be rescued" she orders.

I find Peeta with Finnick in one of the closets. I sit down in front of them. "They're rescuing the girls"

They jump up but I push them down. "They've already left"

They sit back down and sigh. "When did they leave?" Finnick asks.

"Around an hour and a half ago, I've been looking for you two this entire time"

"Oh" they both reply. "When are they due back?" Peeta asks.

"Tomorrow morning" they both sigh, frustrated.

-Peeta's POV-

Me and Finnick go to sleep around 10pm so we don't have to wait for any longer for the girls to return.

We're eating lunch in the huge hall when there's men shouting. I see Haymitch walk in, straight over to us. "Annie's waiting for you Finnick" Haymitch smiles. I stand. "I haven't seen her yet Peeta but I'll take you to her" I follow Haymitch. I see Annie running over to Finnick, their noses brush against each other before they kiss.

I continue to follow Haymitch down the hall until I hear a shout. "Bread boy!" I turn to see Johanna... bald?

"Hey Jo" I say. "What happened...?" I ask pointing to her head.

"Ugh Snow" is all she answers. "She's down there, but be careful" she warns. I nod, confused and quickly catch up with Haymitch.

We reach a door and he stops. "Is this her room?" I ask. He nods.

"Go on, I'll come in with you but stay in the smaller room so you can have some time together. I nod, I see Finnick, Annie, Johanna, Prim, Mrs. Everdeen, Effie, Plutarch, Coin, Gale, Robert and some others have followed. I open the door and walk in. I see her back to me and a doctor looking at her. All the others stay in the smaller room while I go into her main room where the doctor has now left.

I walk around and see the side of her, her bump showing slightly. I sigh, knowing they are both okay. I carry on walking around, the smile growing on my face knowing I have her back even though she's covered in bruises and dried blood.

I'm now standing in front of her, she eyes me. As if I'm a stranger. She finally recognises me, I smile. She opens her arms and gets up, running over to me. I open my arms for her. Her arms go close to my neck to wrap her arms around.

But instead her hands go to my neck as she pushes me against the wall. "You're a filthy, stinking mutt! You don't deserve to live! No one likes you. You're better off dead! My baby is half mutt" she growls as her hands tighten. She slides me down the wall and lays me on the floor as she kneels on me. I'm holding her wrists trying to pry her off me but she's much stronger than she used to be. "I hate you! You're a mutt! I must kill you! You raped me! I never wanted to be pregnant but you forced me you mutt!" she screams in my face. I feel her hands loosen and see her being held back from me by Gale. Haymitch helps me up as I try to breathe properly. You can see Gale is strugging to hold her back, that's a bad thing. Gale is one of the strongest soldiers we have. I see Robert run over to help him. I'm quickly pulled out of the room and into the one with the rest in. Haymitch sits me down in a chair as the doctor examines my neck. In the end I have to have a neck brace.

I watch her fighting against the restrains. She's not the girl I fell in love with. I fell in love with the girl who sang beautifully, who looked beautiful without any effort, the girl who sacrificed herself for me.

But she's not there.
