7:00 am
Beep, Beep, Beep. I hit snooze on my clock, and open my eyes, it still feels like summer. My eyes close, as I drift off to sleep again, back into my dreams where everything is peaceful with no worries. BAM! I sit up straight, remembering what today is, my first day of High School! I look over to my phone to check the time, 7:30! Oh no, I'm going to be late! I have a text from Maia."Hey, morning, picking u up at 7:55. U ready?" No.I rush to my restroom, brush my teeth, and comb my hair. Then I throw on the outfit I had laid out last night, roll on some deodorant, spray perfume on, and try to some what style my hair. I go to gather my books, honk! I hear. Oh no. I put everything in my arms, and rush out locking the door, hoping I put on matching shoes.
As I slide as gracefully as I can into the backseat, I greet Mrs. Sky. "Morning Mrs. Sky." I say in the most uplifting way, since she's fixing me with a glare for being late."Morning Arriane, how are you? " she asks. "Good, nervous and excited." I say smiling. "Did you run, or something?" Maia asks. "Something like that, my exercise for the day is done for sure. Glad I don't have gym." I say. "Ugh," she grunts "Lucky, I wish we had gym together, you always get me through when I want to fake an asthma attack." "I don't think that's going to work this year, they probably look at your medical record." I say. "Well I'll have to think of something. Do you have an idea?" "Maybe do the exercise...? Then things might be easier, and you won't need an excuse." I suggest. "Eh, to much work, I'll think of something." she says.
The rest of the ride was mostly quiet, as we drove to the school, with my earbuds in. As we approach, I saw the kids walk around, grouping right outside. I looked for familiar faces, saw some, but close to none. Then my heart stopped. I saw the most gorgeous guy ever, he turned slightly in my direction, and that's when I saw her, She was draped all over him. I immediately hated her, I felt hurt, betrayed, angry, and venomous. I was confused for what I felt, why would I? I don't know him. Of course he had a girlfriend. Why wouldn't he? I bet he has a million numbers, and a trail of broken hearts, plus new ones to break. I don't wan to be part of such a line.
I look away, with new determination, a hard look set on my face. Once we park, Me and Maia bid Mrs. Sky goodbye, and head towards the school. The crowds that were gathered have slimmed, and my eyes search for something. I don't know what, til they find where, and my face falls in disappointment seeing he's not there anymore. We approach the steps to the grand door, holding on to each other, as we take the las step through to our new lives.
