We tried to get through the swarm of people, there was a lot a confusion, especially with the freshman as to where to go. Then we finally surfaced to the lunchroom, at the top of the stairs, with a sea below. You could tell who each group was, rockers, smarties, perky, dirty, street, popular, nerds, geeks, quiet, emo, goth, and us the new kids who don't know where to go. Tables at the back had middle school name place cards, though nobody really sat.
At the top where we stood, you could see the whole student body. You could see couples making out in their secluded shadows, holding hands, laughing, smiling, having fun, and fighting. One particularly; the girl I had seen earlier all over the really hot guy, was making a big scene as her boyfriend broke up with her. She screamed, shouted, literally jumping up and down, and practically had a tantrum.
Out of all the eyes the ones that meet mine are his, deep, bright green. I melt a little, and immediately look at something else, like the new brightly, light painted yellow walls, the green of the trees out side on the opposite side, or how she's now in his arms. My heart drops in my stomach, and I'm not hungry anymore. But Maia pulls on me, as she drags me, flying down the stairs, and guess who we bump into in the rush, him. Though that's not what's wrong, her cereal is all over my top. And even though we bump into him, and she was behind. Ding!!! The warning bell for first period rings.
