NYX

THEY had been standing outside the club for nearly an hour now. There was no saying when they'd be let in. Nyx was ready to return to their hotel, any hopes of being allowed into the exclusive club dwindling by the minute. Despite The Red Night being advertised as a club for the elite, he and his friends still decided to visit the place.

Many locals and tourists like them decided to test their luck in being let in the club but to no avail. It was evident that there was a list, a list where none of them were on. Just as Nyx was about to urge his friends to leave the line and find some other place to hang out, their attention was brought to a car pulling up to the front of the club.

Three men, dressed in expensive suits, exited the car. A valet, someone Nyx didn't expect to see, took the keys from the driver as one of the men opened the car door that faced the club. His breath hitched when he saw her, feeling all sorts of emotions.

As usual, she was dressed in dark clothing, save for her red leather jacket. Their eyes locked as she stood on the pavement, neither of their gaze unwavering. She turned away from him, speaking to one of the men that came with her in a hushed tone. She motioned towards him but made no move to approach him.

Nyx watched as she headed straight to the club entrance, where she was given instant access. Motivated by her sudden appearance, he decided to wait until he and his friends were allowed to enter the club, no matter how long it took.

A few moments later, one of the men he saw earlier came out, walking straight towards him. The once noisy line quieted down at the sight of the man as he stood directly in front of Nyx. The man looked at him up and down, before deciding to speak.

"Madam Elena has given you access to the club," The man said as he motioned to the entrance. Noticing his hesitation, he continued. "That includes your companions"

Thrilled to finally be let in the establishment, Libertus pushed past him and quickly entered the club, with Pelna right behind him. A bit hesitant, Crowe and Nyx followed suit.

The moment they entered, the attention was on them. Nyx could feel their burning gaze on their small group but he couldn't figure out why they were staring.

"Madam Elena hopes you enjoy your stay" The man said with a slight bow of his head before leaving them on their own.

Soon, they sat down at a table, tucked away at a corner. They waved down a few servers as they thought of their next move. Nyx looked around the club, from the bar to the dance floor, to find a certain someone.

"Ya think Nyx's girl let us in?" Libertus asked as he nudged the man in question.

"She definitely looks rich," Crowe said with a nod of her head. "But I don't think she's rich and powerful"

"Nah," Pelna let out a sound of disagreement, shaking his head. "When you're rich, you're automatically powerful, it's a given."

"Rich or not, what I want to know is why won't anyone serve us?" Libertus grunted as he tried to wave one of the servers down to their table.

"I'll get us some drinks at the bar," Nyx said as he stood, hoping to somehow bump into her. "The usual?"

His friends replied in a chorus of yeses, confirming their answers. Nyx nodded his head, quickly moving towards the bar. To get to the bar, Nyx had to walk through the crowded dance floor. He decided to stick to the edge of the dancefloor, where there were fewer people.

As he neared the bar, a girl appeared in front of him, grinning widely. She greeted him but Nyx could barely hear her over the loud music.

"The name's Bea!" The girl said, shouting over the music. She grinned up at him, a glass of some unknown alcohol clutched in her hand.
