When I started writing this story, I named it "Mine" to caricature alphas' possessiveness.
After a month or two, I thought it too short and added a subtitle: "If I Were You".
Aforementioned subtitle has since been promoted to title, yet fails to win unanimous support. It was deemed unoriginal and unfitting by awards judges and reviewers.
