So you might be confused about what's going on, so I'm just going to explain a few things to make it more clear:
Harry's friend, Hermione, dies in Malfoy Manor. Harry is (basically) depressed. He gets sent back in time by something or someone. He gets sent to when his mother and father died, but the person/thing decides that Harry should be sent to 4th year instead. So, nothing changed in the first 3 books (That includes Harry rejecting Draco's handshake, Harry gets sorted into Gryffindor, Snape and Harry rivalry, Sirius is saved in book 3, etc.).
In the next chapter, Harry is in the summer of 4th year (before 4th year). Harry is determined to protect his friends by being as far from them as possible because Harry is a huge target, affecting his friends. He would try his best to keep Hermione, Ron, Luna, Neville, Ginny, Fred, Remus, etc. alive by not being friends with them (because that would make them a target of moldy voldy).

2. I really don't want to write 7 books for a fanfic
3. 4th year was honestly the best book ever so...
4. I kinda wanted people to be surprised, you know? Like people wouldn't know so much to expect of the boy-who-lived if they never met him (yes, they have high expectations, but what else? personality?). So like, if they got to know him for three years(his rivalry with Draco, his friendship with Ron and Hermione, his Gryffindor pride), they would be more surprised when Harry started to change -SPOILER AHEAD- (and date *ahem ahem* malfoy *cough cough* and get resorted into Slytherin and etc.)
