I aimed for the notes accurately, paired fingers stretched joyfully and my hands dancing across the piano. The morning beams glows everytime it enters my lonely shaft, through the frozen shards that engraved my walls.
Mom went shopping and I'm alone with my sister's piano, until I heard a blade's shriek downstairs.
I curiously tiptoed across the kitchen, looking for the source, with a stick in my grip.
BANG!
A loud stabbing sound filled my room upstairs. It's a thief. I concluded and went for the telephone. I dialled the police and asked them to hurry.
I dropped the call and carefully went upstairs. A murderous shadow stretched across our plain wooden floor, suggesting me to back out and hide.
But I slowly went for the knob and forced myself to face the intruder.
◇◆◇ Neverglades ◇◆◇
The clashing of blades and rushing wind against the arrows busied the cave, where the Clashers seeks safety from the evil mobs. The clapping of feet made its way to the top where the master's tent stands. The messengers, leaded by Kai Flint, invaded the room, bringing news that will, for sure, be mourned by many. Line of books and hanging charts crowded the walls and mad maps covered the floor. Flowing silk cloth waved across the master's feet and buried the royal ground.
"What news have you brought me, rangers of the deep" roared their impatient master.
"We heard, across the town, near the cave of the great Vulcano, the last glimpse of Mika and Fin." Kai spitted out the words like he cares for Fin. "The crumbling cave is hard to enter and I'm afraid Fin and Mika are trapped inside."
The master, hidden in the shadows, dropped his wine goblet and slashed his arms across his table, washing the maps, compass, pens and bottles flying in midair. His menacing presence taunted the hearts of the messengers, scaring them away, leaving Kai Flint, astonished, and nervously gripping his blade.
"We can't afford to lose them, especially Fin." Grumbled the master. "Neverglades will fall without them."
"But I'm here father!" Cried Kai, bursting out his feelings. He can't take it anymore and spelled the hatred in his words. Kai is the master's son and no one knows about it.
"You're a shame Kai! Don't ever call me your father." The master boomed, crushing Kai's leather collar and glares evily at his teary eyes.
"All my life! I've been a slave to you." Kai started. "All my life I'm trying to impress you, but who gained the favor? Huh? This Fin Grey, you kept when you found him abandoned in the woods? I'm your son! But i have never felt, even an inch, that you cared for me."
The master raised his hand and landed it on Kai's cheek. The slapping noise journeyed inside the room, leaving Kai grudged by what his father did.
"Don't ever talk to your master like that. Leave and never show your face again!"
Commanded the master.
Kai walked out the room leaving the silence slowly invading the tent.
◇◆◇ Earth ◇◆◇
The light striked my eyes and faded as soon as the mysterious shadow blocked the window. His sword piercing out from his fists and spikes of hair hanged from his head covering his exhausted eyes. A satisfied smile cracked and shimmered like water.
"I did it!" Hushed the stranger. " I defeated the piano."
Beneath his feet, strands of hardwood zagged and crushed planks of wood piled up. The piano keys sprinkled across the carpet, creating a scene I never expected to happen.
"My piano!" I dropped myself and picked up the chunks of memories and stared at him. "What did you do to my piano? Who are you and why are you here?"
He strung his hanging hair and looked at me. The horrors filled my mind and excitement flows out of my gaping mouth.
The time froze and the ticking of the clock deafened me. He, also paused, backed away and dropped his blade.
This stranger in front of me, wearing the same costume I saw on TV, with the same details, but much more realistic now, looks really like me.
I'm like peeking at a mirror, but not this time, he's real. He stood there, surprised too of what we both discovered. But before we could speak up, a knock, from downstairs, stole our attention and broke the eerie atmosphere.
