Chapter Twelve: Family

"Mommy, Mommy, wake up!" I heard through my slumber. I was dreaming of Flora and Hestia. They were sitting with me, talking and laughing.

"Just a second, honey," I mumbled, and opened my eyes slightly to see his huge grey ones right in front of my face. His straight, brown hair was a mess.

"No, Mommy, you have to wake up! We're hungry," Cyrus said, and I felt him jump up on the bed. Draco exhaled slowly and rolled over to face him.

"Cyrus," he groaned exasperatedly.

"Sorry, Daddy," the four-year-old said, and I sat up, hearing Cora start to cry in her crib. I rubbed my eyes and slipped out of bed to check on her.

By the time I got down to the kitchen. Draco, Scorpius, and Serena were already starting breakfast; eggs, bacon, and toast.

Serena turned to look at me.

"Morning, Mum."

"Morning, baby."

My seven-year-old baby girl-with Draco's wispy white-blond hair and my big green eyes-gave me a hug and then ran back off to help with breakfast.

"I wanna help!" Cyrus was jumping up and down to see the stovetop.

"You could get burned really bad, buddy," said Scorpius, who had just turned twelve.

"Then why does Sewena get to help?" he said.

"Come here, Cyrus," I said, and flicked the TV on. Cyrus's favorite cartoon was on. He squealed and ran to sit down in the living room, staring at the television.

"Here, I'm gonna set your sister down here beside you. Remember she's still little, so don't let her fall, okay?"

"Okay, mommy," Cyrus said and smiled. God, did he have Draco's smile.

I set Cora, only eighteen months, down beside Cyrus. She looked just like me, with thick unruly brown hair.

Just then, the doorbell rang.

"I got it," I said, and walked over.

It was Daphne, and her two kids, Eleanor and Cosmo, here to watch the three youngest kids while Draco, Scorp, and I were gone to King's Cross. He was boarding the Hogwarts Express today.

"So, what's cooking? Literally," she added when she stepped into the house and got a whiff of our breakfast.

"Aunt Daphne!" Serena yelled, and ran out of the kitchen to hug her. Cyrus jumped off the couch, causing Cora, who was leaning on him, to fall over. Which caused her to start crying.

"Oh, poor baby..." Daphne cooed at Cora as she picked her up off the couch and held her in her arms.

"Hey, Aunt Daphne," Scorpius called from the kitchen.

"Hey, there's my man!!" Daphne said as she walked into the kitchen, "You excited?"

"Yeah, a little," Scorp said.

"Well, make that little into a lot!" Daphne said, and Scorp smiled.

Scorpius is the oldest at twelve, and definitely was the shyest and most laid-back out of the four children. I like to think he got it from Hestia.

Our next oldest is Serena Astrid, seven. She was definitely the most outgoing. I also like to think she got it from Flora.

The second youngest is Cyrus Dimitri, seven. He was very energetic and full of life and energy, even for a four-year-old. I like to think she got that from April.

And last but definitely not least is Cora Vanessa, our baby girl at eighteen months. She's very talkative. Of course, it's all baby talk, but she made sounds and noises all the time. I like to think she got that from both Flora and April as well. She also always knew how to cheer me up, just like Hestia.

We all ate, and then Draco, Scorp and I all got dressed and left Daphne with the children. I hugged and kissed each one of them goodbye, and Cyrus was crying as we left because he couldn't come with us. I knelt down beside him.

"Hey, look at me. One day, this will be you too. Mommy and Daddy will take you to Hogwarts. How does that sound?"

Cyrus nodded and smiled.

"Okay, well I've got to go now, alright? Be good for Aunt Daphne. I love you very much," I said and kissed the top of his forehead.

"Bye, Mommy."

I waved at Serena, who was over on the couch.

"Be good, alright?" I told her.

"Okay, Mum!" she waved at me.

"Bye, baby girl," I scooped Cora into my arms and kissed her forehead. She screamed with laughter and made a whole bunch of baby noises.

"Alright, Scorp, you've got all your things?" I asked.

He nodded.

"Alright, let's go," I motioned him out the door.

At Kings Cross, it was almost as crowded as it was on my first day at Hogwarts.

"So you'll run through the wall right here, alright? I'll go with you if you want."

"Go with me," he said, and grabbed my arm very tightly.

"One... Two... Three!"

We ran through the wall together, and Draco wasn't far behind.

I saw old friends from school, and Harry and Ginny Potter and Ron and Hermione Weasley were standing over in a corner with their children.

We walked over to where Blaise and his wife, Lauren, stood with their daughter, Penelope, who was in the same year as Scorpius, and their son, Graycen, who was only 6.

"Hey, guys!" Blaise hugged both Draco and I, and then ruffled Scorp's hair.

"You ready for Hogwarts, big man?" Blaise asked Scorp, and he nodded.

"Maybe you and Nella here can make friends! I'm sure you both don't know many people here, but you've known each other for a long time," I suggested.

Nella smiled at Scorp, and Scorp halfway smiled back embarrassedly.

The whistle on the train blew, and Scorp turned to me. He gave me a long hug, then he turned and did the same to Draco.

"Be safe!" I called as he took the first step up onto the train, and he turned back and smiled at me.

As he got onto the train, Draco stepped closer to me and wrapped his arm around my waist. I leaned my head against his shoulder.

"He'll be fine, I'm sure of it," Draco said.

The train pulled out of the station, and I couldn't feel more happy, standing here with my husband at my side and my oldest child going to a place I knew was safe. I had three more children and a sister at home who loved me, and I knew I couldn't ask for anything more.
