Chapter Five: Battle
Immediately I turned and threw up, the sight of Crabbe's bloody and charred face still swimming in my mind. After a while, I wiped my mouth and stood up. I turned and came face to face with a particularly murderous-looking Death Eater.
Before I knew what I was doing, I raised my wand and yelled, "Stupefy!"
A golden colored light shot out of my wand, and hit the man square in the chest. He flew backwards, out a window, breaking the glass into a million pieces. I tried to catch my breath, and then turned and hurried to the only safe place I knew of: the Slytherin common room. It was underground, surely it was safe. On the way though, I happened to catch a glance in the window at the school courtyard below. It was awful. Students and adults; some lying wounded or dead, some standing and ducking, spells constantly shooting out of their wands. Two large trolls, swinging their monsterous clubs at whatever they saw next. Many hugely oversized spiders, cornering their prey for another meal. I shuddered, tore my eyes away, and moved on.
***Hestia's POV***
I'm running, blindly, through the halls. I don't know where I'm going. I don't care. Seamus blew me off. Gave me a weird look, and went off. And Flora-my only sister, the only person I truly trusted with everything-is gone. Dead. Forever. I sink down in a corner and start to cry, a small whining sound coming out of my mouth. I don't hear someone approaching me until they're right in front of me. I look up through the tears in my eyes to find a full grown man in dirty ragged clothing.
"Why are you crying, little girl?" he asks me, his voice a very mocking tone.
I say nothing, just look down, wishing he would go away. Slowly, I reach for my wand. When he sees this, suddenly he whips out his own wand. I stand quickly.
We both hold that position for a second, our wands pointing at each other. Then he asks again, in the same mocking tone, "Why are you crying, little girl?"
"My sister is dead!" I scream at him, hoping that he'll take some pity on me and leave me alone, or at least kill me faster.
He looks at me and says, "Well, why don't you join her?" and flicks his wand at me. I immediately fall to the ground, feeling a sharp pain across my neck. My head hits the ground with such force that it doesn't take long for the world to fade to black. Then black brightens to pure white, and I squint my eyes, looking around. The ground is made of pure gold, and there is a white mist around me. I start walking, looking down at myself. I'm dressed in all white. At this point, I know I've died. This can't be a dream. Then up from the mist I see buildings, mansions made of gold, and silver, and marble. They're gorgeous. As I walk through the golden streets, I see someone in the distance, calling out my name.
"Hesita!" Flora's voice floats out from the fog.
I run towards the voice, my sister's voice. But as I reach the place where I heard Flora's voice, her figure disappears. I look around for a while for her before I hear her voice right behind me.
"Hestia, it's me."
I turn and fall into her arms, sobbing. Flora holds me up, keeping me from falling to my knees. I hug her tighter than I ever had before.
"Love you, Hestia," she whispers.
"I love you too, Flora, so much," I choke out through my sobs. Once I stop crying, I look up at Flora.
"What about Astoria?" I ask, "Will she be alright?"
"I don't know," Flora says.
"I hope she'll be alright," I say.
"Me too..." Flora says.
"So what now?" I ask.
"Well, we've got a mansion around here somewhere,"
