The Ensuing Dream

Jai couldn't believe what is dad just said. He kept quiet for some time and left to work without uttering a single word to his parents . All prevailed in a state of confusion in his mind . He raced in his car , so his mind. He could not focus on the oncoming traffic .The thoughts kept on bothering him very much. He reached his office, and immediately went of to his cabin without catching up with his colleagues. There was this unusual silence about him which did not go unnoticed by some.

Jai's POV

I couldn't process what was going around me. Appa had suddenly asked me to get married!! I mean how can this even be possible?

i've seen and known Appa as a person who mostly hated me because I never was a help in his business, but actually brought shame upon it . The girl they've asked me to consider was Ms.Janaki Raghuram. She is a wealthy industrialist and is a member of one of the most influential families in entire South India. Her mother was a distant cousin of my mother, like both are malayalees tho.. but my dad is a Tamil Brahmin and married my mom while in college. The thing which bothered me the most was that they were the one who asked for this to happen . I don't understand why would they do that?? I was a person who is from a much lower societal status, we don't have political control points like they do, even though my firm is going on pretty smooth. She is a person used to eating , sleeping and living with diamond platters, how would she accommodate herself in the restrictive culture of Brahmins?

My mind was so occupied with these thoughts , is when I found my phone buzzing, it was call from Rishi. Omg, he had asked me to join him somewhere ,god!! I completely forgot about that, now he'll kill me

I ringed him back, he did not pick up, noice ...Im ded now.Then i went up to my window, I saw his car parked there

ohh shitt.. he came over , before i could think anything, I felt a strong punch in my stomach,

"you rascal.... how dare you not pick my call. You know that it's an important meeting with my sponsors" he said by punching me hard in my stomach

We had an absolute row regarding this. Nevertheless he noticed the change in my face as I had not been enthusiastic regarding the

"What happened bava??" he asked

" Appa asked me something"

"Ohh it's something great,your dad had been quite stand offish regarding the decisions you have taken in life. It's been almost 5/6 years since you guys talked properly i guess?"

"Yup, that's right , the thing is he wants me to get married"

"He wants you to get what?" He sneered

"MARRIED" I said by asserting myself. I never knew why, whenever this Rishi starts laughing, I feel like a maniac going out of control .

"Gosh!! you and ,married??, wonder what does he plan to give as dowry along with you?" he said jokingly. 

"Get lost idiot, I'm confused regarding the whole thing" by that I reveled the entire conversation I had with Appa . Rishi looked rather serious

"Oh, It's actually bit complicated here isn't it? Marriage to a wealthy Industrialist, from a huge family, and most importantly the girl being older than you, hmmm" he said with a sigh.

" That's right, i don't know why are they pulling me into this? and i'm afraid of saying no and creating a friction with Appa"

Before I could complete my sentence, one person broke into my cabin. It was none other than Niranjana , one of my co-partner in my firm and my college mate.
