Let's just begin.
Materials : PNG and a background pic
----- - --- (❁'◡'❁) --- - -----
1. Add your pictures
2. Add a layer between them, and fill it with your main color scheme
3. Change the blending mode and opacity
4. Go to filter > adjust color > hue/saturation/lightness to match the colors of the PNG to the background.
5. Add contour and highlights to his face (explained in book one part 68)
6. Using your main color, draw half a donut in their eyes.7. Draw a white dot around the pupil
8. Change the blending mode to 'Add' then lower the opacity
9. Make the brush size really small ( mine was 2.0 - dip pen (hard)), then draw thin lines on the lighter part of their hair with your color
10. Repeat step 9 with a lighter color and white after that
11. I adjusted the color of the PNG again13. Go to filter > blur > unsharp mask to define the PNG a little bit more (it's zoomed out so it's not clear but if you actually do it, it really makes a whole lot of difference).
14. Do the same to the background
15. Go to filter > frame > blur frame to add a dark frame around the cover
16. Add a new layer and change the blending mode to Overlay
17. Draw little white lines around the PNG, especially the areas with highlights
18. Now add another layer and change the blending mode to Add (then drag the layer below the PNG)19. Go to filter > style > glow (outer) to add a glowing effect to the PNG
20. Repeat step 18-19 but with white
21. Add a new layer at the top and draw two white lines with the straight ruler tool
22. Make the opacity really low and change the blending mode to Add to make it seem more natural (I just realized that I put the wrong picture, just remember that the blending mode is Add, not overlay, and the opacity is around 10-15%... sorry guys)
23. Use an airbrush and color the top left and bottom right with your main color
24. Lower the opacity and change the blending mode to Overlay.Adjust everything else and you're done.
Things to note :
- don't use clashing colors
- lighting is key
- filter > blur > unsharp mask is useful to define features of the pictures you use.Whew, that was difficult.
