Graduation Ending - 2

WONWOO

Tuesday
That Monday, we were busy talking about the yearbooks that I also ended up getting one. I even managed to find the yearbook of when I was still a first year.

I laid down on my bed, just randomly scrolling around my phone. That was when I got an idea. I opened the messenger app and texted him. "Hey, Seungkwan. Are you free now?" To my surprise, he answered fast and said that he was free the whole day. I had something in mind to ask so I thought it would be better to ask face-to-face. In the end, we agreed on meeting up in a café near the school. It was pretty known among us students but that day was a holiday for all grades in that school so it wasn't that busy.

"Oh, Hyung! How long have you been waiting?" Seungkwan said as he took a seat. I smiled to see the brown-haired boy who seemed to be in a cheerful mood and said, "Heh, you don't have to worry about that. Besides, I didn't wait that long yet." He looked somewhat relieved. "So then... Why did you want to invite me, hyung?" he asked out of curiosity.

I sighed and offered him a drink. He ended up drinking some hot tea and I drank a vanilla latte. "Well... I just wanted to talk with you. And I guess I have some questions, too." I explained. He sighed and looked away from me. "I can expect that reaction so that's fine. It's normal for someone to ask about something they don't understand. Now then, what is your question, hyung?" he asked as he sipped some of his drink, careful not to burn his tongue. I took a deep breath and was careful in phrasing my words. "That day we visited the orphanage. You were playing with that one kid and you said he was similar and reminded you of him. Until now, I still don't understand that much of what you meant. I apologize if this is a private or personal thing but... I've been wondering about it lately and I can't seem to know the reason." Seungkwan jumped, as if surprised. "Oh! Right! I forgot to explain about that. Well... I remember when I first stepped in the orphanage. You and Jun-hyung both was approached by the kids; and the same as me. I wasn't particularly interested in spending time with the kids but one of them caught my attention. I saw a little boy, playing with himself. He didn't seem to get along with the rest of the kids or even the orphanage caretakers. I approached him to see what he was doing. Turns out, he was fidgeting with a piece of paper. I asked him what that was, trying to start a conversation. He couldn't explain it since his words were limited, so he let me see it. It turns out, his family hated him and... yeah. The way he felt like an outcast and acted like one reminded me of myself."

His eyes started to look around except at me. "B-But... I then realized that... I was wrong." His fingers were tapping on his glass nervously. "I realized that... I was completely wrong. Now that I relook that... I'm not alone. I was so selfish that I saw only the bad things I went through. I didn't realize that I have you, hyung. And not only that, but I also have all my friends around me... Does... That answer it?" he looked at me with a shy smile.

"Definitely." I laughed. We continued to talk more that we forgot how much time passed...

"See you then, hyung!"
