Graduation Ending - 3
--------------- Time Skip -------------------
Thursday
'Hm... It's really not easy to believe that we would be graduating tomorrow...' Thoughts ran across my mind as I was eating my dinner. My parents seemed used to my behavior and shrugged it off. It was true, maybe I was a bit too overthinking it. I walked over to my bed and had a good night's sleep--that I wished I had. I was disturbed by all the notifications from the group chat with the hyungs. I sighed as I remembered that they were coming as well. After an hour of noisy ringing, they finally stopped and I could sleep.Friday - Graduation Day
Honestly, the ceremony was boring as usual. But aside from that, it was pretty fun. My parents allowed me to spend time with my friends that day and left me alone with them for a while. "Ah!" I heard Soonyoung exclaim and point towards somewhere. My eyes followed the direction and found our hyungs in casual clothes. Us, now graduated third years, quickly approached them. We were greeted with multiple 'Congratulations' by them. Soon after that, the second years found us and brought the first years as well. It was... What do you call it? Wholesome. We even got to exchange signatures as we said.Instantly, the first years clicked with our hyungs, just like us. Soon enough, the whole event was over. We ended up adding the first years to the group chat so that we could stay in touch.
...
The graduation that was held in our school was over. I, as always let the others leave first. I saw everyone disappear in a distance. I decided to walk around the school for a while. It was peacefully silent. The cold air from open windows slowly breezed in. I then made my way out, going towards the direction of home. I walked towards the school gate for the last time...
"Time flies by fast, huh?"
That voice... I looked back to see Seungkwan who had a sad smile. He was holding something in his hand. I turned back and asked, "Seungkwan? You aren't home yet?" He nodded. "Just like you, hyung, I never go home early. Something like a habit that I developed over the years. I spotted you walking around as well so I thought I would catch up." He told me to hold out my hand and I did as so. He then put something on my palm. It was... His keychain that he got from the fund raiser. It was a fluffy brown bear that seemed happy and had a honey jar beside it. I was confused, "Seungkwan...?" He giggled, "It's for you to remember me by. Something like a thank you gift." I looked at my palm and smiled, "Thank you..." It was a shame I didn't bring mine otherwise we could've exchanged it. With that, I was about to turn and leave because I wouldn't be able to stand saying 'Goodbye' to him. I always hated doing those kinds of things. Right then, I was held back. Seungkwan gripped my wrist, preventing me from going any further. Before I knew it, I felt warm arms go around my body. Seungkwan gave me a warm hug from behind.
"Thank you, Wonu-hyung."
...
I didn't let go of that embrace until I realized that I should be going back home. "You shouldn't be thanking me, really. Anyways, it seems... I have to say goodbye. I'll be moving soon to somewhere else so I'll be lying if I said we were going to meet soon. Somewhere in the future... I'm sure we'll meet again. And once we do, I'll be looking forward to seeing how you've grown, okay?" My junior--no--friend then nodded and laughed, "Then... I'll see you around... Somewhere in the future, hyung! Make sure you don't forget me!" I chuckled at that and left him, holding that keychain in my palm without even realizing it.
"Hm, I won't go and forget that easily. Hopefully... You would be the same... So to you who is in the future...
...I'll be glad to meet you."
