I blinked rapidly, hoping that my eyes were just playing with me. But they weren't. He was actually here! Nandito siya!
"Ari, diba... that's Derek?" Bianca asked just as shocked as I was.
He was here. Andito siya.
Kasama niya ang mga iba namin kabatch. Namely, Paula Vargas, Kenneth Perez, Nicolas Javier, and Jeremy Santos. NIcolas and Kenneth,aren't exactly on good terms with Tristan and I for some reason. Parang kay Bianca at Jasmine lang sila mabait. Hinde namin kasama si Jasmine kasi she has a project due so she skipped lunch.
Matagal ako nakatitig sakanya pero umiwas ako agad nang lingunin ako ni Nicolas Javier.
"Bianca!" Sigaw nito. Lumingon naman agad si Bianca. Hayst, naman talaga 'tong bestie ko.
"Nicolas! Hi!" Bati naman n'ya. Tristan and I shared a look and each took a menu para mag-order.
Umalis si Nicolas sa table nila at pinuntahan si Bianca. "Hey, I didn't expect to see you," Aniya. "What are you doing here, anyway?"
Fucker won't even acknowledge me and Tristan
"Uhm, libre ni kuya since he decided to be nice for once." Sagot naman ni Bianca with a slight chuckle. "Kayo, ano gawa ninyo rito?"
"My friends and I are treating this new guy we met in English." He answered smiling sweetly. Ew. Trsitan and I just rolled our eyes. "Well, I'll get going now. I'll see you back at school, Bianca." Nicolas gave me and Tristan a dirty look before going back to his table.
We gave her a menu and each got a ballpen to mark our orders.
"Good afternoon, welcome to Blake's Wings and Stake, ako po si Jenna at ako po ang magiging waitress n'yo po." Dumating ang babae na tinawag ni Tristan. She took our menus and went to the kitchen to give our orders.
"Why are you so nice to that guy anyway?" Tanong agad ni Tristan nung umalis yung waitress. Bianca looked at him weirdly, "Bakit? Is it wrong to be nice to someone?" Sagot niya, "Wala naman siyang ginawa sakin na mali ah,"
"E wala naman din kami ginawa dun, tignan mo yung ugali n'ya saamin ni Ari." Tristan countered while rolling his eyes.
Bia let out a 'hmp' and turned away from her brother.
After a few minutes dumating ang food namin, but I noticed that my drink wasn't the one I ordered/
"Excuse me, miss?" Tawag ko dun sa waiteress namin.
"Yes ma'am?" Sagot naman niya.
"My drink is wrong, I didn't order this kind of Iced Tea." Sabi ko.
"Oh! My bad, na-mix up ko po ata yung drink mo with him." Paliwanag niya, sabay turo sa table sa may far right namin.
Putik naman, tadhana.
Pagkatingin ko, my drink was in the hands of Derek. Shit.
"I'm sorry ma'am," Sabi niya habang kinuha yung drink, "I'll just get you another drink." She left and went to the kitchen again.
"Don't you think it's destiny?" Bianca asked me. "The way he transfers to our school, then he's friends with Nicolas, then they so happen to come here, then he accidentally gets your drink?"
"Destiny agad? Hinde ba pwede na coincidence lang?" Patol si Trist. I don't call him 'Kuya' because I've already known him for a long time.
Bia rolled her eyes and answered, "Things happen for a reason, Kuya."
"Not everything, Bianca." He countered, "Besides, what do you know about 'destiny'?"
"More than you could ever know, you dense prat."
