4 hours had passed since I had begun packing and now I was all packed, and in the back of the family limo. The driver had left me to my thoughts, as he drove me toward the airport. In three hours I'll be on a plane to California. I’m still not sure whether to be happy or not with that as I have always wanted to go to Cali, just never had the chance with school and all.

Saying goodbye to my friends was probably the worst thing I've ever had to do. They all couldn’t believe that my parents had sprung this on me. For the past two hours I've been crying, whilst going through all my contacts in my phonebook. And everyone I spoke to cried with me, even the badass boys! This surprised the hell outta me because they're big footballers and rugby players and NEVER cry! I mean, you have to be ‘macho’ right? Well, that’s how boys see it anyway. Stupid boys.

I watched out the window, the people passing by, and the big houses, whooshing past everyone. I tried to remember everything I saw because I thought if I forgot them then it would end who I was, almost like I'd lose myself with the losing images of my home country. I knew I’d be back again in a few months, but still, I’ve grown up here, and it’s my childhood

. I lost track of the time, when I was sat in the car. But I knew it had been hours because the sky was darker than before, it must have been around 3am. I looked up at all the stars, as we approached the airport. There seemed to be so many of them, I hadn't really noticed before. I bet when I'm in California, I won't be able to see them because of all the lights and stuff or maybe I’ll be in the countryside. Is there countryside in America? I don’t know, I never concentrated in geography; it wasn’t my most enjoying subject when it was mandatory.

The driver stopped the car, opened my door, and went to get all my stuff. Well, here we go...

*

What a long plane ride! I had nothing to do except read my book, which I finished half way through!

Wow, they were right! It's definitely sunny in California, I had to grab one of the pairs of Ray Bans to keep the sunny rays out of my squinting eyes. I got off the plane, glad I was in shorts and a tank top, and followed everyone back to get my luggage, which I’d definitely need a luggage trolley for,  otherwise I’d be stuck here for a while.

Once collected, I went outside to the front of the airport. My dad has said there would be a driver waiting for me with my name on a sign and all I’d have to do is go over to him when I saw him.

He was right. The man that held my last name was bald, by choice I think. He looked badass, with a suit and dark glasses on. Oh well, I guess this must be it.

"Hi, ummm, I'm Angel! I guess you're my driver?" I asked him. He just nodded and opened the door he was stood in front of. I stepped in and he took my luggage. I sat down, to face three teenagers. Two boys and one girl. One of the boys had sandy blonde hair, which was cut into a long side fringe and shaved back. He wore surfer three quarter lengths with those cheesy (and cool!) pink Hawaii flowers on and a peace sign shirt. The other boy had dark hair that was almost black; he had light washed rip jeans on, with a surfer boy shirt on. The girl had tiny surfer shorts on with a little black strappy top on, with, (of course!) flip-flops!

"Hi! I'm Jamie!" the girl said. She seemed almost overly cheerful,

"I'm Troy" said the dark-haired boy. I smiled a small smile at him. He was very good looking with his bright green eyes and tanned skin. "I'm Sam!" said the blonde boy. Who was maybe even sexier than Troy! He had bright blue eyes that stood out so much against his tanned, dark skin! "I'm Angel!" I smiled bright and stuck out a hand to shake each of their hands. "Wow, you're English! They said you were foreign, but English! Oh, and Angel's a cool name!" said Troy, "Thanks! Apparently as soon as my mum saw me she said 'Angel' and that was that! Ummm, so do you go to the school, or something?" I asked them all, looking into every pair of eyes. Jamie had dark brown, almost black eyes with the same coloured hair. "Yeah, of course we do! Why would we be here otherwise?" she asked me, whilst giving me a 'duh?' look!

"Oh yeah, I guess so! Sometimes-"I was cut off by my phone ringing. I looked at the number. Adam. Okay, so he's my brother. I picked up the phone

"Hey Adam! Have you heard about what they're doing to me!?" I asked him, well more like screamed at him. "Yeah, I heard over the internet! Everybody was putting how much they'd miss you, when I asked what was going on they explained, I can't believe they would do this!" he hissed out. Adam was three years older than me, which made him 20. He'd moved out as soon as he turned 18 and advised me to do the same. Our parents weren't always the nicest people.

"Well...what do you think? Think I'll manage here on my own? I think I'll miss you the most, Adam!" I said nearly in tears, AGAIN! Jeeesh, I don't usually cry this much. "I'll miss you too! And I know you'll handle it! You're the strong one in the family, you always have been! I'll talk to mum and dad about this, don't worry. I've got to go now, love you!" he said.

"Love you too!" I smiled and pressed end call putting the phone in my pocket. Everybody was staring at me.

"Who was that?" asked Sam.

"It was my big brother; he called to see if I was alright. He didn't know anything about it. I'm not surprised really, he would have beaten dad up before he let me leave England!" I smiled. It was true, he really would have beaten dad up. He's always been very protective of me, which hasn't always pleased me but it's always nice to know that if I do get in trouble he's there. I’d always do the same for him, but seen as I am 5’4 and not that big I can’t usually do much.

Sam’s smile looked relieved, I wonder why? Oh well, the car had started its drive a while ago. I looked out of the window to see the sea, and loads of surfers out in the waves. I have a feeling I'll like it here. I smiled at Jamie, Troy, and Sam, and knew that I had just made my first three friends from America!
