Let me make it clear that I didn't want to split up, and I had no idea what I was doing. However, I was leading a quest anyway, so I didn't have much of a choice.
So while Rachel, Galloran, Nedwin, Tark, and the drinlings took book Trensencourt, Galloran's former kingdom, if you remember, and plan an attack on Felrook, again Maldor's castle if you remember that as well. Rachel got invited into Maldor to be his apprentice because she was that awesome. They leave Trensencourt in the care of Nedwin, who died defending after they left," Jason bowed his head for a second. "He actually took out Maldor's closest ally and several others. Well, they managed to secure the fort with the help of the Amar Kabul and drinlings and go to war with orientium but then Rachel made a deal, and she became Maldor's apprentice if he agreed to spare her friends, so she infiltrated the castle. She eventually turned the torivors against Maldor, and actually got them to make a deal with her, that's why there might be a couple here and there because they've sworn allegiance to Galloran and Corinne."
Cole felt a shiver run up his spine. He didn't want to meet them. He just had a really, really bad inexplicable feeling.
Jason didn't notice his discomfort. "We had to find some unknown prophet when we barely knew anything so the best idea we had was to go to a library if you can believe it or not, but not just any library, the Celestiline Library, that place was very large and very big and filled with information. There was only one problem, because there's always a problem, there was this guardian, the Maumet, and we had to defeat to gain access. Maumet just so happened to be able to transform into whatever he touched, so we got him to touch water. After that we had a lovely time with automated librarians trying to help us. We find out the last location of the prophet, but it means we have to cross the scalding caverns and the narrow way. A whole lot of nothing. We also had to leave in a hurry because Maldor's people found us and we had to find a way to get out. The journey to the scalding caverns wasn't fun, and Drake got killed by a torivor, Nia was killed by the wanderer, one of Maldor's monsters, so did Jasher and Farfalee, but Corinne planted their seeds in time. We did defeat the wanderer, but it was almost too late. I had to enter Darius's final resting place by myself. He'd left a note for me, and told me that Felrook was built on an old Oriantum mine and Rachel had learned all she needed from Orruck had tought her what she needed to know. I relayed this information to Ferrin via his ear, which he'd given to me for a situation just like that. Ferrin and Tark both went under the castle through a lake and blew it up." Jason shook his head once more. "We lost a lot of people, but Maldor's gone now, and well," Jason smiled. "I haven't seen anyone from my world since Rachel left a couple years ago. I promise I'll do my best to find a way to get you back."
Cole eyed him curiously. "You don't miss it?"
Jason sighed. "Sometimes." He shrugged. "But there are a lot of things that I enjoy better here," and he got a little wistful expression on his face.
"Corinne?"
Jason smiled and nodded.
"Just promise me something else."
"What?"
"I don't ever want to meet a torivor."
Jason frowned. "Are you sure, they're not so bad anymore. They won't be able to bother you."
Cole thought about the sinking feeling in his stomach. "Oh I'm sure."
Ahh, it's been a while. My life is a little messy, but I'm good... I think. Okay maybe a little mad, exhausted, happy, nervous wreck and so done with everything at the same time, but it's all good. Sorry I didn't get this out sooner, but I can do chapters more frequently now because I don't have to rely on a book.
Die Bravely,
Me
