January 11th 2020:
"Stephen-" The older cuts him off by turning on his heel and yelling.
"No, I don't want to hear it!"
"Look, I'm not lying, ok?!" Gavin snapped. "I know you wanna think that I am, because he can do no wrong in your eyes, but it's the truth! The cold, hard truth!"
"Oh, you'd know all about the truth, wouldn't you, Gavin?" Stephen hissed, venom in his words.
"What is that supposed to mean." The younger spat. It wasn't a question.
The older laughed in his face, stepping closer, wearing a look of spite. "You know exactly what that means!"
"Why do you refuse to believe me?! I've never lied to you about anything!" Gavin yelled, lilac eyes glossing over with tears which he desperately tried to will away.
"Bull. Shit!" Stephen shoved him backwards, making the younger stumble slightly. "You have lied to me, once! About you and Hosuh, at the party!"
"Oh, for fuck's sake, we were drunk!" Gavin screamed. "When are you gonna let that go?!"
"Let it go?! You kissed my boyfriend, you piece of shit!"
The younger snorted, shaking his head in annoyance. "Oh, I'm the piece of shit? You've got it twisted, dear brother. So twisted."
"You shut your mouth." The older spat through gritted teeth.
Gavin didn't listen. "For years now, you've been blind to the fact that I was pushed away from the spotlight in the family."
"You need to stop talking-" Stephen felt the anger manifesting deep inside of him, threatening to come out and do something he knew he'd regret.
"From the day since I was born, you've chosen to ignore what he did to me everytime you were there to witness it." The younger continued.
"I'm warning you-" Stephen clenched his fists.
"But you know what happened-"
"Stop-"
"You know that dad abused me!" Gavin yelled.
And just like that, the anger won.
SMACK!
A sharp cry rang through the room, then a small thump.
The older stared at his hand, marked red from the force of the slap.
He glanced towards his brother collapsed on the floor, shoulders heaving with heavy breaths escaping his body like he couldn't breathe.
Finally coming to his senses, Stephen started towards him. "Gavin, I-"
His heart broke when he saw the younger flinch, shuffling away slightly.
"Don't come near me...don't touch me.."
The older stared at him in pity. This was his fault. He'd done this to him.
Why couldn't he just control himself?
"I'm sorry.."
Gavin stood shakily from the ground, grabbing his bag as he glared at his brother, turning to leave.
"Sorry doesn't cut it."
Then he left.

September 4th 2020:
Stephen exhaled heavily through his nose. It was 11:00 p.m. at night, and he was still at work, in this lousy office job he had chosen for himself.
All he wanted to do was go home and cuddle up to Hosuh on the couch, switch on a terrible rom-com movie then laugh until they fell asleep.
He was broken out of these very tempting thoughts by the phone on his desk ringing.
Sighing again, he reached over and picked it up, putting it to his ear. "Hello?"
"Is this Stephen Ng?" The voice on the other line asked.
"Yes, you've reached him." He replied.
"I'm afraid to say that your brother has been in an accident."
At this, the purple haired male froze. Swallowing thickly, he answered back. "Accident..?"
"He was attacked in an alleyway by three men. Whilst trying to escape, he got beaten brutally, and there was a knife involved, I believe. Also-"
Stephen didn't bother to listen to the rest. He slammed the phone back down on the receiver, practically shoving his coat on and grabbing his bag quickly before rushing towards the lift.
Looks like it was time for a sibling reunion.
