August 22nd 2020:

Gavin set his phone down on the table next to him, sighing heavily as he buried his head in his hands.

He'd just finished arguing with his mom over the phone about him, and it was exhausting.

Sometimes, it felt like no matter how much he tried, the world could never see him as anything more than a failure.

"Gavin?"

Said boy looked up to see who it was. A small part of him hoped it was Stephen.

That small part of him got squished as he met eyes with his landlord.

"Oh...hello, Mr. Brookes." Gavin mumbled in response.

"Hey kid, uh..." Mr. Brookes looked to the floor, licking his lips nervously. "I hate to be the bearer of bad news, given what you've already been through, but uh..you gotta go."

Every single piece of hope Gavin had left at that moment was shredded to pieces.

"Y...You're kicking me out?"

"I know you're going through a lot right now, but you missed the last three payments of your rent," The landlord continued. "I can't make exceptions for ya, kid. You gotta go."

"Wait, no, please..!" Gavin grabbed him by the arm as he turned to leave. "I-I don't have anywhere else to go!"

"I sorta figured that kid, which is why I started looking around for homeless shelters-"

Gavin's eyes widened.

"H...Homeless shelters?"

"Yeah. But it's not a run down homeless shelter, this one is clean and big, you'll be looked after just fine there-"

"I'm not going to a homeless shelter..." The blue haired male spoke.

"What?" Mr. Brookes sputtered.

"I'd rather live on the streets." Gavin said.

"You don't mean that-"

"Yes I do." Gavin spat.

"Kid, you have to be out of your mind-"

"Stop calling me that!" Gavin yelled. "I'm not a kid!"

Mr. Brookes stared in shock as the younger male began packing everything away.

"You're really gonna live on the streets..?" He asked as Gavin was finally ready to go, walking towards the door.

He didn't reply, walking out of his apartment for the last time, ignoring all the yells of his name.

September 4th 2020:

Stephen typed a number into the phone at the hospital, sighing in slight frustration as he heard an automated voice telling him to leave a message instead of them picking up.

"Hey Hosuh, uh...I know you're probably worried, since I'm usually home by now, but uh..there was an accident, and I'm in the hospital. Don't worry, though, I'm fine! Wish I could say the same about Gavin...just get here, please...I need you to be here.."

Placing the phone back on the receiver, he walked over to the window where you could see Gavin's room, and stared with remorse at his brother's unconscious form.

"I won't leave you...I promise..Not again.."
