Chapter 14

Maria was sitting with us today. She and her perfect hair and her perfect round lips. She was texting someone and completely ignoring the rest of us at the table. Max told her to sit with us while she waited for Alex to finish his class. I was planning on introducing myself but she hasn't even looked at us since she sat down. Alisha and Samatha didn't even know who she was.

"So...um who are you exactly?" Alisha says breaking the awkward silence.

Maria looks her up and down and pulled a weird face. "Seriously? Alex didn't mention he had a FIANCÉE? He must have!" her eyelash batting in annoyance.

"Alex doesn't even speak much," Samatha says playing with her food. "I didn't even think he was cable of human emotions"

Maria looked more at ease at that comment and smiled at her self proudly." Well, he doesn't open much to people, but me" she says pointing at herself dramatically." I have known him since we were like in diapers!"

"That's sounds terrible. I already hate knowing him now" Samatha scoffs to herself.

Maria glared at her and Max and Alisha glanced at each other.

"ANYWAY! This is Maria guys she's um Alex's fiancée...as you know. And she going to be studying with us now...Yay!" Max says trying to soften the atmosphere.

"I'm Alisha by the way and that's Samatha and Simon," Alisha says cheerfully pointing at in between Sammy and me.

"Oh, I remember you! You're Alex's roommate. Well ex-roommate. We looking to buy an apartment close the campus." she says joyfully.

"Wow, that's great! Now you don't have to share a room with that devil" Samatha says nudging me.

"He's not the devil. You just don't understand him as I do. He's actually nice when you get to know him" she says confidentially. I wanted to push her on a bus. But I just kept quiet.

"You seem awfully quiet today Simion, usually you would be making fun of her with me" whispered Samatha beside me while Maria asked Max if she actually had to go to lectures.

"I haven't had any breakfast yet" I lied.

Before she could question anymore. Alex showed up with two trays in his hand. Maria face lit up and she patted her seat for him. Either he didn't see there was a seat beside her or he was on crack because he actually sat next to me. Maria faced dropped and she tried to play it off by playing with her hair. Alex pushed the second tray of food to me. I tried to hold in my surprise.

"Ugh...Alex were my food?" she says her lashes batting frantically. I held back my grin.

"You said you're on a diet"

"I'm- well- I'm hungry now!" she whines.

Alex pushes his tray to her which she smiles at. He then looks at my food and I sigh and was about to go get my own food. But he stopped me. "Where are you going aren't we going to share?" he says calmly as if it was the most normal thing in the world.

"I- uh- okay," I say sitting down. I felt happy again. "You can have the salad since you are obsessed with being a freaking plant eater." I tease.

"Better than being a meat one" he scoffs and moves closer to me. Since there was only one fork we take turns using it. I looked up to see Maria and my friends looking very dazed.

"I didn't realise you are your roommate were so...close," Maria's voice trails while looking at me deeply.

"We aren't... I'm just a very..." I grab the fork from Alex and ate what he was about to put in his mouth. "...convincing person," I say daring her almost. I thought maybe I would back off Alex once she arrived but she seems like a controlling self-centred bitch who makes Alex angry, which is my job.
