Chapter 20

"I'm sorry," I say the moment I enter our dorm. 

"I don't care" my grumpy roommate huffs while tapping his phone violently. As a way to help him calm down his nerves. I downloaded loads of mini-games on his phones which seems to be kinda working...kinda. 

I moved to lay on top of him and push his phone away with my head. I smiled at him while he continued glaring. "How can you stay mad at my sexy face?" I teased. 

"Your face isn't sexy" he grumbles to himself but he avoids eye contact. 

I smile and run my fingers along his chest. "Why don't we get sexy?" I giggle playfully. I started to slowly unbutton his t-shirt. He stops me with his hands. 

"You think you can tempt me with your body?" he says raising his eyebrows. I stared at him and he stared back. "Because you are right," he says leaning in to kiss me. I smile in between his lips. 

The door slammed open and a loud screech filled the air. 

We break our lips and turn to see the intruder. 

A young girl was standing by the door, she had soft tanned skin, long thick black hair and dark chocolaty brown eyes. She was beautiful and rich...almost like...

"Lexi, what are you doing here? Where is Dad?" Max says peeling away from me. His eyes stayed on his sister ad if I wasn't even there. 

I looked at him in shock. "You have a sister?" 

"You have a boyfriend?" she says laughing at him. "Dad is going to FREAK" she laughs again, then enters our dorm, she made sure to close the door. She walked towards us looking just as expensive as her brother. What are they feeding these kids in New York?

"You didn't answer any of my question" Alex huffs. While I'm still in shock he has a sister. He mentioned something about it briefly during our fight but hard to pay attention to everything when someone is screaming at you"Since when did have a sister?" 

"I told you about her, you just never listen" he grudges. Then turns back to his sister. "Answer me," he says firmly. 

"Slow your roll. You need to tell me when...THIS happened" she said raising her eyebrows at me. 

"Wait, you think I don't listen to you?"

 "OH, this is going to be one hell of a show" she claps excitedly. Her long hair bouncing as she clasps. 

"I mean maybe some things I do overstep but not LISTEN?" I searched his eyes to see if he was serious but his eyes never left his sister. I tried to think back to when he told me about his sister. 

"I'm serious Lexi, where is Dad? Why did you come back with him?" he asks again in a calm but menacing tone. I was too shocked and conflicted to make a joke about how he is sounded low-key sexy. 

She sighed and started touching things around the room. She looked bored with this conversation. "Dad...is not exactly happy with your little breakdown on the campus. He had to pull a lot of strings to sweep it under the rug but he is pissed. Plus it's not just Dad and me it's...everyone." she says cautiously. 

Alex's eyes light up in fear and he bites down his bottom lip hard. "Everyone as in?" his voice was a lot less confident and demanding. In fact, the way his face had changed so quickly caused me to stare deeply at him. I have never seen him so...scared. 

"Grandad, Maria parents...even mom," she says looking at her brother in sorrow. 

Alex said nothing for a bit. His face was impossible to read. Then he let out a low whisper "Mom is here?" he says softly. 

"Yeah...look...they are all pretty tired to say or do anything now..so just relax, ok?" she says trying to smile but I could see it in her face, she was just as anxious as her brother. She then turned to me and pushed out her hand. "I'm Lexi, Alex hotter younger sister" she smiles brightly despite the tension in the room. 

I shook her hand and smiled lightly. "I'm Simon, Alex's hot roommate and boyfriend" I joke back trying to also ease the situation. 

"Glad you have a sense of humour, you will need for the battle you about to face" 

"I'm confident enough." I smile which causes an unjustified glare from Alex. Oh, now he wants to look at me. I ignored him and kept smiling at his sister. 

"I like that." she glances over at Alex who still looks pissed. She let out a loud sigh"Anway, I am tired as fuck. So... I'm going back to the hotel. Good luck tomorrow guys" she salutes us and I salute back as she leaves the dorm. 

An awkward silence filled the air once she left. I opened my mouth to say something but he gets up and locks himself in the bathroom. 

WTF? 

I went to go bang the bathroom door. " IT'S NOT That  I DON'T LISTEN. IT'S YOU NEVER TALKING TO ME!" I shout. 

There was no word on his end. 

Just like as usual.

It wasn't until 3 am my stupid roommate decided to sneak onto my bed. I pretend to sleep but I could feel his body lingering down my back. I heard him let out a little sigh. 

"I'm sorry, I was being a dick today" he whispers. 

I stayed quiet. 

"I know you're awake." he huffs. 

"I may be awake but that doesn't mean I have to listen to you" I mumbled. I know I was being petty but I hate how he always shuts me out the moment things get rough. He deserves to be treated accordingly. 

"You were right, You do listen...I just don't tell you things. So far from now on...I'll try to keep you...informed" he struggles to say. 

I turn to face him. Studying his face to see if he was being serious. "Tell me about your family," I say in a quiet voice. Maybe if I don't hear myself it will hurt less if he rejects my request. 

Alex looked at me. As in really looked at me and let out a long aggravated sigh, He bit his bottom lips nervously. "My mother is a drunk, my grandfather is an abusive asshole, my dad is a bystander money-hungry dick and no one seems to care but me," he says as if it's been eating him up for years. "All my life, my grandfather has been controlling every aspect of my life. Since his god for nothing son gambled half his inheritance away and married...my mom" he bit down on his bottom lip. 

I snuggled closer to him. "Don't worry...whatever happens we have each other" I whisper on his chest. 

 "What in the John Green?" he smirks at me. Then his face dropped "Oh no, I'm turning into you" he pulls a disgusted face. 

I glare at him, "What awesome? Sexy?" 

"No, incredibly annoying," he says playfully with his sexy grin. 

"Good thing I'm meeting your Dad tomorrow, maybe I'll-" 

"Finish that sentence. I dare you." 

"Tell him what a wonderful son he's raised" I smile innocently. 

He lets out a low chuckle and cuddles me closer. "Let's sleep, we have to rest before the war," he says sleepily.

This is so short, but I been off Wattpad for a while cause I forgot my logins. But I'm back and I saw all the lovely comments and I felt I owed you guys to a chapter for the long wait. 

The chapter is short but I just been so busy with school and shit. So I rarely motivated to write anymore but I'll try my best to finish this story to thank you guys for your support!
