DISCLAIMER: THIS STORY WILL BE IN THE POV OF LEILA

I wake up to the sound of my alarm going off. The digital clock reads "7:00am." I groan not wanting to get out of bed and wishing that I could just have 10 minutes more sleep. I hurry downstairs to get some breakfast, as I have to leave for school in just half an hour. I walk into the kitchen and I am greeted by my brother Ollie.

"Hey princess, sleep well?" he says with a gentle smile. "Yeah.. I just wish I didn't have to go to school today." I say followed by a yawn. "Ah, well. Today's your lucky day. You have a check up with Brooke and I at 9am so i'm taking you out of school for today." I freeze. I hate his clinic. The smell, the tools, the dreaded sound of the drill. Everything. "Great...can't wait" I say, Ollie can sense the sarcasm in the tone of my voice. He raises his eyebrows "Hey, I haven't checked on those pearly whites in a long time. I need to see how they're doing." I sigh and accept the fact that I do need a check up. Ollie puts his empty mug in the sink, walks over to me and pulls me into his arms. I rest my head against his chest. "Go get dressed and make sure to clean those teeth of yours. I want them extra sparkly." He jokes before placing a gentle kiss on the top of my head and letting me go get ready.

**THEY ARRIVE AT THE CLINIC**

My heart is almost beating out of my chest as I read the words "Jackson's Dental Centre" in bold letters, above the building of my brothers dental clinic. Ollie gets out of the car and comes around to my side, to open the door for me. "Come on sweetheart, let's get this over with." He gives me a sympathetic smile as I slowly get out of the car. I follow him inside and as much as I am used to the smell of fluoride, I still hate it. It makes me feel sick.

We pass through the waiting room and go straight over to the reception desk where we are greeted by Sophie, the receptionist. She smiles at me "Hey Lei, Back again are we? You really do love coming here don't you?" She lets out a little laugh. "Oh you know it" I reply, Ollie senses my sarcasm and gently nudges me with his elbow. "Heyyy, you love it here" He smirks, I just roll my eyes. Ollie picks up my file and turns to Sophie "As much as i'd love to stay here and chat, I've got to get this one downstairs so I can check her beautiful teeth" He ruffles my hair. I move away, slightly annoyed as I have only just brushed it. Sophie lets out a little laugh "Good luck."

Ollie leads me downstairs to where all the exam rooms are. We walk down a long corridor until we reach his. The metal plaque on the door read "Dr Jackson." I gulped and followed him inside where my hygienist, Brooke, was sat already prepped. I almost forgot to mention the part of Brooke being my brothers girlfriend.

"Hey sweetheart, nervous at all?" Brooke coaxed me into the big blue dental chair sat in the middle of the room. "Urm.. a little.." I quietly reply. I choose to co-operate and sit in the chair. Before I know it, i'm already being layed back and I can hear Brooke snapping on her gloves. The sound makes me cringe. Once I am parallel to the floor, Brooke sits on her stool underneath my head and tucks her mask neatly under her chin so she can speak to me. "Right, all i'm going to do is give you a little cleaning. You shouldn't need too much doing unless I deem it necessary. Then obviously you know the drill, Ollie will check to see how your teeth and gums are looking and If he thinks you need a more advanced cleaning then that's what we will do." I gulp and just give a little nod. She smiles "Perfect." She then pulls up her mask and turns the overhead light on, adjusting it to my mouth. "Go ahead and open wide for me" I do as she says and open for her. Brooke doesn't really scare me, in fact she makes me feel quite relaxed.

She begins to floss my teeth. I lay still, fiddling with my charm bracelet. I hate this bit, It's so awkward. "You're doing so well angel, no bleeding so far." She says and I sigh with relief. Before I know it she's finished flossing my teeth. "Now, which flavour toothpaste would you like?" I open my mouth to speak but before I can even respond she says "Hold up- let me guess.. watermelon?" I laugh a little and reply "How ever did you know?" Knowing that I always pick watermelon. She laughs and wheels herself over to the counter to get the toothpaste. Before I know it she's sat back under my head and holding the polisher "Open." I co-operate and do so.

As soon as she's finished, she takes her gloves and mask off and stands up. "She's all yours babe." Ollie and Brooke switch places. I look up and meet Ollies eyes, he snaps on a pairs of gloves and smiles. "You're going to be just fine." He turns to Brooke "Brooke, a mask please." Brooke hands him a mask and he applies it. Ollie turns back to me and gently places his gloved finger under my chin "Just tilt your head back a bit princess" He adjusts my head "There we go." I hear him pick up some tools from the tray and he brings them towards my mouth "Let me take a little peak at these teeth of yours." I oblige and open my mouth for him.

As soon as I do so he slips his mirror and probe in, scraping at each and every one of my teeth. "Her teeth are looking so good, her dentist must be one of the best" He chuckles to himself. I laugh a little, the best I can whilst his tools are still in my mouth. He takes his tools out of my mouth "Bite down for me princess" I do as he says and I can feel him retract my cheeks with his mirror to see what my bite looks like and how my teeth are arranged. He takes the tools out "Alright angel, you can relax now."

He turns to brooke "Her smile is gorgeous, however I think we should refer her to luke for maybe a 18-24 month orthodontic treatment." Brooke nods and starts typing on the computer. I slowly sit myself up and look over at Ollie "Am I all done?" Ollie turns back to me and gently lays me back down. "Not yet baby, I didn't finish examining your back molars. "Open wide for me" He says as he picks up his mirror and probe. I groan "Can't I just go home now?" Ollie sighs "Come on baby girl you are doing so well, the quicker you let me finish- " I interrupt and finish what he has to say "The quicker I get to go home.. I know." Ollie smiles sympathetically behind his mask and puts his thumb on my chin and gently guides my mouth open "Thank you princess." He inserts his tools and begins to finish the examination.

Before I know it, he is finished "Aaaaand we are...done." He smiles and takes the tools out of my mouth and puts them on the tray. Ollie sits me up, before taking off his gloves and mask and disposing of them. He then sits back down on his stool and wheels himself to beside the chair to give me the all dreaded verdict. "So... your teeth are looking really good. Your brushing is excellent and so is your flossing...however you need to spend a little longer brushing your back molars as there is a slight build up of plaque back there. Other than that i'm very happy with you." He gives me a gentle smile. I let out a sigh of relief "Phew...I was so scared." Ollie chuckles and stands up, I get out of the chair and he pulls me into a hug. He kisses me on the head before saying "You should be proud of yourself, that's the longest you've gone in the dental chair without having a panic attack." I laugh a little "I try my best." Ollie chuckles and then let's me go "I need to help Brooke clean up, how about you go wait in my office then we can go grab some food?" Brooke quickly butts in "ah ah ah she can't have food for another hour, i've just polished her teeth." Ollie pinches the bridge of his nose "I'm such an idiot" He chuckles "Just go wait in my office Lei, i'll be there in a bit princess." I nod and smile as I leave the exam room.
