Chapter~2

Nezuko POV-

Does Zenitsu-kun hate me? He keeps trying to distance himself from me. Just the thought of him disliking me makes me feel gloomy and depressed- W-Wait why am I feeling like this? I just met Zenitsu-kun and I'm already worried about what he thinks of me?

Maybe it's my hair he doesn't like, maybe he thinks I'm ugly! Maybe he thinks I-

What are you saying Nezuko?! You don't actually care about what he thinks of you! He's just your brothers friend, nothing more. If I like Zenitsu-kun that would make it really weird between my brother and him!

As I try to get these thoughts out my head, I decide to head out to the backyard, where I can get some fresh air like Zenitsu-kun. Maybe that'll help clear my head... As I walk around, I notice Zenitsu-kun plucking flowers out of the ground.

I muster up the courage and decide to walk over to him.

"Z-Zenitsu-kun?" Did I really just stutter?

"YAHHHH!!! S-Sorry, you scared me Nezuko-chan!"

I instantly become flustered as he adds the 'chan' next to my name.

"Why are you picking flowers right now?" I ask with blush now on my face. His face instantly turns into a crimson color.

Is he going to make something for his crush? Does he even love anyone? The thought of him loving someone else makes me kind of annoyed and angry. I don't want him to love anyone else besides-

Why am I thinking this?! Am I really getting jealous? Over who Zenitsu-kun likes?

Do I actually have a crush on him?

Zenitsu POV-

I instantly feel my face heat up over Nezuko-chan's question.

"Why are you picking flowers right now?"

I couldn't possibly tell her I was trying to make a flower crown for her! Maybe I shouldn't make it for her, she would be weirded out that her brother's friend was making a flower crown for her. I notice that Nezuko-chan's warm expression gradually turn slightly annoyed and gloomy.

Is she annoyed by how loud I am? I should've known I had no chance with her. The thought of this makes me sad. Even though I like a lot of girls, Nezuko-chan seems different. Yes, she is really pretty, but she also has a really caring personality just like Tanjiro, which makes me drool for her more-

GAHHHH!!!!! WHAT AM I SAYING??? SHE'S YOUR BEST FRIENDS SISTER FOR KAMI'S SAKE!!

Tanjiro POV-

"Zenitsu! Nezuko!" I exclaim, wondering where the two went. I eventually pick up their scents and discover their both in the backyard. As I walk over to the flower field, I see Zenitsu and Nezuko next to each other. They appear to both be lost in their thoughts.

Their scents too... I've smelled this before too... Around mom and dad. It's really familiar, but I can't identify what it means.

"Zenitsu? Nezuko?"

"O-Oh Tanjiro!"

"What are you two doing out here?"

"U-umm I saw Zenitsu-kun walk to the backyard so I decided to f-follow him,"

As Nezuko says this, Zenitsu's face instantly becomes redder. I could also see a little bit of blush on both their faces.

Then, it clicked to me. That scent, it indicates the scent of love. Are my sister and best friend really in love? 

I usually would go into overprotective brother mode on anyone who was trying to swoon my little sister, but Zenitsu is different. I've known him for a long time and he's a caring, gentle, and kind person. I know he wouldn't hurt a fly. Well actually, he'd probably start bawling his eyes out if he sees a fly, but Nezuko could probably help calm him down. I think they would make a cute couple. They're like two peas in a pod!

I keep these thoughts at the back of my mind and tell both of them to follow me inside, so I can treat Zenitsu's injuries.

As I apply a bandage to Zenitsu's right forearm, I ask him "Why were you picking flowers? Was it for a girl?"

He instantly becomes a vivid red.

"Y-yes i-it was for a g-girl... A g-girl I really l-like," He stutters. Wow... I didn't think Zenitsu would ever say something like that. What catches my eye is the fact that Nezuko furrows her eyebrows and looks visibly looks upset. Her scent also slightly became more bitter.

Someone's jealous hehehehehe...

That means these two knuckleheads aren't aware of the feelings they have for each other. It's pretty obvious that the two have a huge crush on each other. Let's just hope that Zenitsu has gotten over his perverted days, and everything will be fine.

Nezuko POV-

He likes someone?! Who could it possibly be?!

Why am I getting so upset over the thought of who Zenitsu-kun likes? Is it because I know it might not be me? Is he really the one?

Apparently, everything seems to be pointing to the answer yes...

Welp, looks like I'm crushing on my brother's friend. Don't ask me how I let this happen. 

"Anyways you're all wrapped up! You should feel better tomorrow! Since it's the first day of school we really don't have much homework so do you want to stay for dinner Zenitsu?"

"S-sure Tanjiro! But what will we do in the meantime?"

"I guess you and Nezuko can try to get to know each other a little better?"

No Tanjiro! Are you gonna make me stay in the same room as him? I'll probably look like a tomato in front of Zenitsu-kun and stutter like crazy! But maybe I could use this to get closer to Zenitsu-kun.

"I'm sorry Tanjiro! I have to go home now! But t-thank you for treating my injuries!"

Zenitsu then hastily gets up and leaves. Does he really not like me that much? Why am I so devastated by the fact that Zenitsu-kun might not like me? It's only a little crush right?

"Hmm, why was he so quick to leave? He seemed really flustered too so I wonder who he's thinking about?" Tanjiro says as he begins to walk to the kitchen.

"M-Maybe his crush? Do you know who his c-crush is brother?"

"Well Zenitsu has liked many girls over the years, but he seems different about this one. Why? Are you concerned about who Zenitsu likes?" My brother smirks.

"N-No! Not at a-all!" I stammer, as blush begins to cover my face.

Zenitsu POV-

Holy crap I can't believe I didn't faint! I do feel a little bad for just walking out on Tanjiro but I don't think I could have lasted more than 5 minutes in a room alone with Nezuko-Chan.

Speaking of which I got on the flowers I wanted! This flower crown will look so pretty on Nezuko-Chan! Well anything would look good on Nezuko-Chan.

I heat up some instant ramen and eat as I try to make this flower crown as flawless as possible.
