You opened your eyes and adjusted to the bright lights surrounding you. Looking around you noticed that you were in a hospital room and then at yourself. Thankfully, you weren't hooked up to anything, but you felt bandages around your ankle.
Now that your eyes were fully adjusted you noticed a figure... spinning? You blinked a few times.
Naruto was on a wheelchair spinning around.
"Naruto?" Your voice seemed to scare him. He lost his balance and fell on the ground.
"Hey!" You couldn't tell if he was excited to see you awake or if he was startled. "You've been sleeping all day! I was getting bored, you know." He frowned.
"Are you ok?" You asked him but only looked at you quizzically tilting his head to the side. "You just fell out of your chair..."
"Oh! That was nothing in comparison to what I do during training." He chuckled sheepishly scratching the back of his head.
"If you say so... what are you doing here?" You were genuinely curious, no one in a long time had worried about your well being, at least you assumed that he was there to make sure you were alright.
"To check up on you of course!" He laughed. He offered a warm smile that didn't quite meet his eyes.
"Are we in the Hidden Leaf?" Naruto's smile widened, showing true joy at the question.
"Yeah! I'll give a tour around, I know this place like the back of my hand." He said proudly. "In fact we can go right now." He walked towards you and examined your ankle.
You weren't one to judge, but he looked like he had no idea what he was looking at. He nodded a few times and looked at you excited."All good!" He stated.
"Naruto, I'm sure a sprained ankle doesn't heal in one day." You laughed while he quietly observed you.
"Naruto, it takes at least a few days for it to heal." This took him a second to understand.
"Oh..." An idea popped into his mind. "Then, I guess I'll have to carry you myself!"
In less then a second you were on Naruto's back who was about to jump out the window.
You heard a nurse say your name as she came in, but it was too late. Naruto had jumped off. To be honest you were scared. Since you lived in a small village, nothing interesting ever happened there.
This, being on a boy's back jumping along, was not something you saw everyday.
"Don't you dare let go!" He laughed about your remark. Your eyes were closed. New fear unlocked: heights.
"You better get used to it!" He sped up. "That right there is where you will see the Hokage after they take you away from me. I'll probably get in trouble actually." He moved on. You didn't bother looking.
He put you down on a rooftop, still you refused to open you eyes.
"Open your eyes." He chuckled. "Take a good look at your new home." You weren't sure of how he knew that you were moving in, but you decided to ignore it.
"How high up are we?" You said hesitantly.
"Not too high..." He lied.
"I'll open them, but give me your arm," You couldn't see him but he was smiling. "I don't want to fall..." He led your hand to his sleeve allowing to grip his shirt tightly.
Finally, you opened your eyes.
You had heard from your parents that the leaf was a beautiful place, that it had the right amount of everything. And they hadn't lied.
"Let's keep going." You smiled at him. Naruto nodded and jumped along.
It was chilly outside and there were a few people waving at Naruto as he passed by. He seemed quite popular.
"Do you know all these people?" You said as you admired the view. A single cloud decorated the sky.
"Most of them yes, but some just know me because of the war."
"Oh?" You knew of the war obviously, it put every nation at risk and united them at the same time. Still, being from a small village in which people came from all over the world, rumors about the war were not to be trusted.
Once it was said that the Sand village had been attacked by a man named Orichimaru and killed the Sand siblings. A lot of people were devastated and it was funny seeing their faces when they found out they had been given false information.
"We can talk about that some other time." You assumed the war was an uncomfortable topic for him.
Naruto jumped to a really high tower where you could see the entire village. There wasn't space for the two of you to stand so you remained on Naruto's back.
"It's so beautiful." You said as you finally decided to rest your chin on his shoulder.
"Yeah..." Naruto smiled slightly, you saw out of the corner of your eye however that his eyebrows were furrowed.
"Is everything alright?" You regretted asking him immediately, asking someone how they are when they are clearly trying to hide something is the worst thing you can do. They not only bury their emotions more deeply, but they also become cautious around you.
"Yeah!" He put a fake smile on. You didn't want to push him into sharing anything with you, you were still strangers after all.
He finished explaining where a few more things were such as the market, training grounds, main gates, flower shop, and his house.
"I saved the best for last..." He said slyly. "Ichiraku ramen!" He waited for a response but you didn't exactly know what you he wanted from you.
"It's my favorite ramen shop, you know! Today you get lucky and get to eat with me." He jumped along to the shop.
You couldn't hide your excitement. This had been the most fun you'd had in a while. If everyone here was like Naruto, you knew you'd love your new home.
Naruto stopped in front of a small shop, it smelled so good in there you had to stop yourself from drooling.
"It smells so nice" You said.
"Of course it does! I come here every-"
"Naruto!" An annoyed voice called.
"Oh no." Naruto groaned.
