Naruto closed the door of his apartment and walked away with both hands in his pockets.

He was on his way to meet his friends after not seeing them for two weeks. The war had created a strong alliance between all the villages. Still, it didn't mean his friends got a break from completing missions.

Naruto kept walking through the village and earned some waves from the people nearby. Everyone praised him, after all he did save the village not too long ago.

"Hello!"

"I'm glad to see you're well."

"Looking good as always."

"Yeah, he is the one who saved us all!"

Whispers and greetings reached Naruto's ears. He politely answered each one of them and flashed the brightest smile he could muster.

As he turned the corner he gave one last wave and looked away.

And the smile that decorated his face faded.

Naruto arrived at the restaurant where he'd agreed to meet his friends and before going in he took a deep breath and smiled widely.

"Choji! Stop eating all the meat! All of us aren't here yet and you're already on your second round." A girl with long, blonde hair spoke.

"You better be saving some for me!" Naruto stated. Everyone looked at him and smiled and welcomed him and gave him the last open seat.

Forty minutes had passed and everyone was already full. They were calm and quiet for the most part; too tired to start a conversation. All except one person.

"So," Ino started. "How was everyone's last mission?" Kiba decided to speak up.

"Nothing I couldn't handle." He said as he patted his stomach with his eyes closed.

"Well Sai, Naruto, and I met a really nice girl." She started. Naruto looked at her when he heard his name. He wasn't listening to what they were saying earlier since he was fighting Choji for the last piece of meat.

Since he got distracted Choji grabbed his chopsticks and snatched the meat out of Naruto's hands and ate it.

"Hey! That's not fair. Sakura distracted me!" Naruto pointed at her defensively.

"It doesn't matter... I still ate the last one." Choji said with a satisfied smile.

"Anyway as I was saying," Sakura continued as she brushed off their childish behavior. "In one of our recent missions, we met a girl. She's so sweet! Isn't that right Naruto?"

Naruto nodded. "Yeah! She's really pretty too. I invited her to meet all of you but she got shy all of the sudden." He said with some disappointment.

"I'd love to meet her!" Ino said as she clapped her hands together and turned to Sakura. She could already imagine, another girl in the group would be awesome in her opinion. By the spark in Sakura's eyes she could tell she felt the same.
