"The Chalice of Augustus! We came, we saw....." "We got a simply marvelous tan. By the way, do you think they have room service out here? I'm parched." said Jonathan floating by on an air tire. "Alex, swim! Jonathan, radio Mary and Evy now!" yelled Rick seeing a fin in the water. "Must it always be rush, rush, rush. Cant we just enjoy the moment? GAH! SHARK! OK, moment's over!" cried Jonathan seeing the fin chasing after Rick and Alex. "Evy, Mary, we have an emergency! We need to be picked up!" "Is that a shark fin chasing Dad and Alex?" asked Mary looking out the window of the Zephyr. "Goodness!" cried Evy quickly getting behind the wheel of the Zephyr. "Dad, you OK!?" called Mary looking down at her father hanging onto the ladder. "Fine, I just hope Fenwick wasn't expecting the chalice in mint condition." said Rick.
"Tut, a Medjia's best friend." said Alex bouncing a red ball as Tut caught it in his mouth and crawled onto Alex's shoulder. "Don't forget Anubis!" laughed Mary rubbing the jackal's head. "On our way, over and out!" said Evy shutting off the radio. "Fenwick wants us back in England with the chalice?" asked Rick. "No. He wants us at a glacier, in Greenland. A heat wave may have thawed out the Trident of Voth." said Evy. "Heat wave, eh? Perhaps this tan won't fade after all." said Jonathan looking at his reflection in a hand held mirror. "Uncle Jonathan, you do know Greenland is full of ice and snow right?" asked Mary. "Mary's right, Uncle Jonathan. Greenland is icy and Iceland is green." said Alex. "Now that makes perfect sense." said Jonathan. "The Vikings did it for a reason to trick people!" laughed Mary. "The heat wave has raised the mercury to a balmy two degrees. Not taking in account the wind chill factor." said Evy. "Those Artic winds will force us to ground the Zephyr." said Rick. "Fenwick has alternate transportation." said Evy. "Sorry buddy, you're sitting this one out. Your coat isn't exactly up for an Artic winter." said Alex. "And I'M going to need a dog sized winter coat and at least three heavy blankets for Anubis." said Mary looking down at the jackal. "What's the story on this trident?" asked Rick. "Ancient Viking relic. Supposedly it can shoot a blast of unmeltable ice that can cover a small country." said Evy. "With an item like that, we could put Imhotep into a permanent deep freeze." said Rick. "Took the words right out of my mouth, Dad!" said Mary.
"Winter wonderland my eye! I'm freezing my mudflaps off!" yelled Jonathan driving a snow mobile looking back at Evy who was sitting behind him. "I think Anubis agrees with you on that note, Uncle Jonathan!" yelled Mary driving her own snowmobile with Anubis secured behind her. "Whoa, that was close!" said Alex as they drove through an old looking town and a weather vein snapped off the roof of one of the buildings almost hitting Rick and Alex who were riding on the same snowmobile. "Yeah, but WHERE exactly are we?" asked Mary looking around. "Gunterfaden, it was abandoned hundreds of years ago when it's inhabitants, a race of Trolls known as the Faden, where frozen by the Vikings. That's an ice statue of their leader." said Evy. Anubis looked up with a bark as his eyes lit up. "OW!" whined Mary as something hit her on top of the head. Turns out it was some kind of necklace. "Anubis, I REALLY wish you wouldn't pull things like that out of thin air!" whined Mary shoving the necklace in her pocket for safe keeping. "Ah, Gunerfaden in January. Doesn't quite have the panache of April in Paris, does it?" questioned Jonathan shivering from the cold. "Jonathan, will you stop complaining?" asked Evy with a sigh. "N-no problem, considering my lips are almost frozen together!" said Jonathan making Mary roll her eyes. "I'm just glad we're passing through. Let's go." said Rick as the snowmobiles started back up again.
"Say, I was wondering, Master. Considering my crack-a-jack research put us on the trail of the Trident, perhaps we could discuss some small reward once you use it to take over the world." said Weasler driving a sled lead by three mutant polar bears. "Reward?" questioned Imhotep. "More like a token really. I'd settle for New Zealand, Madagascar, perhaps Borneo." said Wealer. "You will settle for just being alive!" said Imhotep. "Alright, of that's your final offer." said Weasler heading towards the abandoned town. "Look out!" yelled Alex as Mary quickly stepped on the breaks. "Whoa!" yelled Jonathan as his snowmobile did a little spin. "Imhotep!" cried Evy. "And he's got Polar bears! No fair!" yelled Jonathan. "Hit the gas, we gotta beat him to the Trident!" said Rick. "Do you think they're after the Trident?" asked Weasler. "Imbecile! Do you think at all!?" questioned Imhotep. "Split up!" yelled Rick. "Already ahead of you, Dad!" yelled Mary making a hard turn. "Not exactly cuddly, are they!?" asked Jonathan as Imhotep set the Polar bears loose. "Anubis, do something!" yelled Mary looking behind her seeing one of the Polar bears chasing her. Anubis barked and looked ahead. Mary followed his gaze towards the troll statue. "I sure hope you know what you're doing!" yelled Mary reviving up the gas. "Here we go!" she yelled leaping over the statue and landing on some kind of old board. "Huh, maybe you DID know what you were doing!" Anubis barked and wagged his tail from under the blankets as the Polar bear landed in a snow bank on top of an old roof. "Uh oh!" whispered Mary ducking for cover with Anubis as Weasler and Imhotep approached the ice statue. "You know, Master, the Faden had magical power over ice." said Weasler kneeling beside the statue. "Then perhaps thawing by him out, he can do what you cannot. Secure the Trident!" said Imhotep. "Nothing like being appreciated in one's work." said Weasler. "From the depths of ice, awaken to serve a new master!" said Imhotep using his magic on the troll statue. "OW!" hissed Mary feeling the necklace inside her coat pocket pulsing. "Oh, not good!" she whispered pulling the glowing blue necklace out of her pocket. "Imhotep's conjured up a new friend!" said Evy looking behind them. "Hey, where's Mary!?" asked Alex looking around for his twin. "Destroy the O'Connells!" shouted Imhotep pointing to Mary's family. "Ah, I believe that's our cue to leave! Mary! Where ever you are, now isn't the time to be playing hide and seek!" yelled Jonathan. "Wait just a second." said Rick looking at the troll Imhotep brought back to life. "I will obey he who holds the locket." said the troll. "Oh, Anubis what did you get me into now!?" asked Mary looking at the locket in her hand. Anubis let out a loud bark. "Glad you find this amusing!" huffed Mary riding her snowmobile out of hiding a squeaked when the troll noticed her. Or namely, what she was HOLDING. "Stay back! I'm warning you!" yelled Mary reaching for her dagger as the troll approached her. "We Faden are at your service." he said after eyeing Mary for a moment and getting on one knee in front of her. "Ah, WE!?" asked Mary nervously but quickly got her answer when a bunch of other trolls started to climb out of the snow. "YIKES!" yelped Mary as they surrounded her. "Guess Mary's the one with the new friends!" said Rick. "All right, Mary, atta girl!" cheered Jonathan. "I think you should be cheering for ANUBIS, Uncle Jonathan, he's the one that probably gave Mary the locket." said Alex. "Mary, grab your new friends and let's go! We've gotta find the Trident!" called Rick. "I don't want new friends and further more...I CAN'T GET OUT!" yelled Mary looking at the trolls who formed a circle around her. "You try my patience, Princess! Now give me the locket!" said Imhotep holding his hand out in front of the girl as Anubis snarled at him with glowing eyes. "Ain't happening!" yelled Mary tucking the locket inside her coat. "No one disobeys Imhotep!" growled the mummy. "Put me down! You know your REALLY beginning to annoy me with this magic trick of yours!" yelled Mary as Imhotep lifted her in the air using his magic. The troll leader grabbed Imhotep's arm freezing half of his body solid. "OW!" whined Mary landing back on her snowmobile. "I will give you one more warning, Princess." growled Imhotep as both his hands and legs were frozen. "A warning? What am I? Five years old!?" asked Mary placing her hands on her hips. "She makes a valid point, Master!" said Weasler as the trolls began to freeze the mummy. "You know, Imhotep, from day one you've always bossed me around. Even back when I was Layla you were blinded by greed. I understand that you act this way partially because of your sister. I wasn't lying when I said there was time when I didn't pity you. I even feel sorry for you but I can't let you do this anymore. After I find the Trident of Voth, I'm going to find your sister. I'm doing it because even someone like you deserves some kind of piece of mind. Even if we are on opposite sides of the battlefield." said Mary with softened eyes before going back to her snowmobile. "Even if you are a monster....even monsters deserve a little happiness. You may not have been able to have me. But that still doesn't mean someone like you doesn't deserve to be happy." "What are your commands?" asked the troll freezing both Imhotep and Weasler all the way into a couple of human and mummy ice cubes. "Can you show me where the Trident of Voth is hidden? And maybe help me find my family who drove off without me?" asked Mary raising an eyebrow. "It would be our honor, Master." said the troll leader. 'And here I thought BASSEL was bad!' thought Mary with a sigh. "Well, what are we waiting for, let's go!" she said starting up her snowmobile and following her family's tracks.
"Once we cross the Suna'nooth mountains, there should be a valley of glaciers on the other side. That's where we'll find the Trident of Voth." said Evy looking over the map she was holding. "Mom, Dad, Uncle Jonathan, Alex! Wait up!" called Mary driving up next to her parents with the trolls following behind an snow ship or whatever you want to call it. "I say, Mary, weren't you behind us?" asked Jonathan. "I had a little set back trying to keep up!" said Mary over the wind whipping in her face. "Glad you and your new friends, made it, Mary! Mom figured out where to find the Trident!" yelled Alex. "Great! The sooner the better! I doubt Imhotep and Weasler will remain human ice cubes forever!" yelled Mary over the wind. "Now THAT I wish we could've seen!" said Rick. "Dad, believe me when I say these guys can give Bassel a run for his money!" said Mary. "Doubtful! I'll bet if Bassel hadn't stayed back in Egypt with Ardeth, he would've followed you here, Mary!" laughed Alex. "No thanks! I don't particularly feel like explaining to a mummy how to work a snowmobile!" laughed Mary. "Good point! Imhotep would've beaten us to the Trident for sure if we had brought Bassel along!" agreed Alex. "Yes, I wonder how Ardeth and Bassel are getting along without you around to keep the peace, Mary." said Jonathan. "Beats me! Can't be too bad though!" yelled Mary. "We shall have you at the Trident's location by lunch, your Highness." said the Troll leader. "Great! And by the looks of it, still no signs of Imhotep!" said Mary with a grin as Anubis looked up at her tilting his head. "Yes, I know he won't stay down for long, but at least we've got a bigger lead over him now!" she said looking back at the jackal tied to the back of her snowmobile. "My thoughts exactly, Mary!" said Jonathan. They continued onward until Mary had to quickly put on the breaks due to being close to a frozen lake. She wasn't crazy enough to bring a heavy machine onto ice no matter HOW thick it was. "Are we close to the Trident?" asked Mary looking over at the lead troll. "Not very far, your Highness, come, we will show you." he said taking Mary's hand. Once Mary was safely across, she stood back a few feet with Anubis as two of the trolls began tearing a bunch of rocks away to reveal a secret passage and went inside. "The Trident shall soon be yours, master." said the Troll leader. "Thanks for your help. My family and I never would have made it here without you guys." said Mary smiling at the Troll who seemed a bit taken aback by Mary kindness but bowed to the girl. Her family stayed behind to keep an eye out for Imhotep and Weasler just in case while Mary and Anubis went with the trolls to retrieve the Trident. Anubis' ears perked up as Mary heard a VERY familiar sound. She let out a yelp and fell backwards as Imhotep's face emerged from the whirlwind NOT looking very happy. "Nice mummy!" squeaked Mary as Weasler went flying out of the whirlwind. "Princess!" roared Imhotep. 'Great job being a lookout, guys!' thought Mary as Anubis stood in front of her protectively. Mary winced when two of the trolls reached into the ground and pulled out two handfuls of snow turning them into ice swords only for Imhotep to break them and send the trolls flying. "I shall NOT be taken by surprise again." said Imhotep. "The Trident of Voth, your highness." said the lead troll coming out of the uncovered cave carrying the Trident in his hand. Mary yelped in fear when Imhotep threw the troll sending him rolling past her family. "I think the judges may deduct some points for that landing." said Jonathan. "Now's not the time to be joking around, Uncle Jonathan!" yelled Mary gripping the Trident in her hands as Imhotep backed her towards the cave. "I have a plan!" said Rick. "Don't be a fool, give me the Trident and we shall rule the world, together!" said Imhotep. "Still trying to flirt with married woman. You REALLY don't give up do you!?" asked Mary. "Mary, freeze him! Save the world!" yelled Evy. "The Trident!" demanded Imhotep. Mary started to back way but yelped when here father tackled her out of the way. "Whoopies!" said Mary as the Trident went off. "At least you aimed the CORRECT way this time, sweetheart." said Rick patting Mary's head. "Anubis, sick em!" yelled Mary pointing to Imhotep and Weasler. The jackal snarled and leapt towards Weasler who started screaming and running for his life. "Now give it to me, Princess!" yelled Imhotep. 'Oh you're going to get it alright!' thought Mary following her father's gaze where a stick of dynamite was. "Obey me while there is still time!" said Imhotep. "Obey YOU!? You forget who wears the crown around here!" yelled Mary throwing the Trident above where the dynamite was. An explosion when off and snow fell from above. "Gotcha, Mary!" yelled Alex pulling his sister onto the Faden's ship. "Thanks for the save!" said Mary as the Trident slid towards the ice that was beginning to crack. "The Trident! No!" yelled Evy as the Trident fell in. "Mom, the glacier's breaking up, we have to go!" yelled Alex. "Taxi!" yelled Rick waving his hand with Anubis standing next to him. "Hop on, Dad!" yelled Mary helping Anubis on board while Evy helped Rick. "We could've put Imhotep on ice forever." said Evy hugging herself. "We'll get him, Evy, sooner or later, we'll get him." said Rick resting his hands on his wife's shoulders. "And may I add, can that happen where it's warm?" asked Jonathan who was steering the Faden's ship. "No arguments from me!" laughed Mary as Anubis barked in agreement while they rode off into the sunset.
