"I'm not starting anything with you today, if that's what you're trying to do," Jungkook said, pushing himself away from the car. He dug his keys out of his pocket as he pressed the button, the car beeping in response. "I'm going to take Lisa back, and don't worry; I won't tell her anything you don't want me to." Jungkook rolled his eyes. "I'm not the one putting the distance between you guys, no matter what you think, Taehyung. Put the blame on me, but even you know it's wrong."
Taehyung took a large step forward but seemed to hold himself back, only because I had finally mustered enough strength to place myself between the two. Actually, it was more like once again, I had to make sure it was Taehyung restraining himself while Jungkook just stood there wordlessly. "Tae, stop it, please." I looked up at him. "You've got to learn to control this. Dr. Jung is onto you guys. Please."
"You should listen to her," Jungkook said, shoving his hands into his pocket. "You're the only one with the problem right now. As long as you guys don't fuck with me, I always keep my promises." Those last words, he stared straight at me as he spoke. I knew what he was referring to - the only reason why he was keeping his cool right now was because of the deal that I had made with him. If I was to back out now, thinking that Jungkook would play nice, I was highly mistaken.
"Taehyung," I said, turning to my simmering boyfriend. I heard the car door slam shut and I knew Jungkook had gotten back inside the vehicle. "I'm not asking you about your brother, haven't you noticed?" I asked, standing on my tiptoes to give him a quick kiss. I was pretty upset about Taehyung hiding his brother from me, but it was obvious why. If he refused to tell me anything about Jungkook, then obviously he was never going to tell me about Namjoon no matter how much I bugged him about it. "The least you can do for me is to calm down and stop getting so pissed off at Jungkook."
"You know, you've been acting weird lately." Taehyung finally said, staring above my head. I tilted my head in question; I already had the nagging feeling that nothing good was going to come from this. "You're always defending Jungkook, and now you're getting in a car with him? None of this adds up."
For the hundredth time, I found myself so in disbelief over Taehyung's complete and utter stupidity that I disregarded the true accusations of slowly befriending Jungkook. "I'm acting weird?" I laughed sarcastically, unable to refrain myself like I usually was. "You have got to be kidding me. I've put up with your bullshit for two years, Taehyung. Two fucking years and the thanks I get for coming to find you after you almost hit me is you accusing me of some unknown shit."
"I said I was sorry about that." Taehyung snapped, running a hand through his hair furiously. "That was one slip up, I swear. And you're not actually answering my question; there's something you're not telling me and I want to know."
"Oh my God." I ran a hand over my face. Sure, I knew I was keeping one large secret from him, but it was absolutely nothing in comparison to what Taehyung was hiding. "You don't get it do you?" I looked at him and he didn't look the slightest bit apologetic. After keeping silent for so long, I needed him to understand how much of a hypocritical ass he was being. "Here you are, bitching me out for not telling you things but you're one to talk. First of all, there's all this about Jungkook." I lifted my index finger up to emphasize my point. "That's one. Two," my middle finger followed, "your brother. And three, why you're being such an ass to me when all I'm doing is trying to help you."
Taehyung stood there silently, letting my words sink in. I saw no change of expression in his face and for once, I didn't feel sorry for not treading lightly around the topic that was Jeon Jungkook. For so long, I'd put up with this but the last few days wasn't just a wake-up call for Taehyung; it was for me. I still loved him, without a doubt, but everyone had a breaking point and Taehyung was starting to push me towards that threshold.
