**THIRD PERSON POV**
Pushing himself off of Kailyn and onto his backside, Spencer felt a small wave of panic wash over him as he looked down at his hands, painted scarlet red, and the paint being her blood. He hadn't realized before how much blood there really was due to the adrenaline rush he'd experienced during the procedure... or whatever you call what he'd just done. Kailyn, almost fully conscious at this point, happened to notice Spencer stiffen up when he looked at his hands and felt she should say something.
"Spence? Are you okay?" she said hushed, still unable to conjure up the strength to speak at a decent volume.
"Did you know that if the body produces too much adrenaline and cortisol, memory loss may occur? Well, that is, if the process of the release of adrenaline and cortisol occurs when fear and/or anxiety are at a high- whatever my point with this is that I" he cut himself off, chuckling slightly, "I can't remember what the hell I just did! I-I could've killed you, and I don't even remember doing it or if I did it right! I mean, I'm supposed to have an Eidetic memory, stuff like this doesn't, and shouldn't, happen to me. Kay, I don't-I don't know what's happening, I-"
"Spencer!" she said as loud as she could, coughing lightly afterward, but it was worth it since she finally caught his attention. Spencer froze for a second, and looked back down at his hands, rubbing his thumb over the palm of his left hand in an attempt to wipe off the blood. Kailyn slowly and wearily put her hand over his, and took a second to collect her thoughts before pressing forward. "Spencer, you're most likely experiencing some kind of stress response to everything going on. I get it, I mean, we're all panicking. But look at them," she paused, allowing Reid to look over his shoulder at the team, making sure everyone was still alive and breathing. He knew they would be, but her reassurance was nice. "Everyone over there is alive. And Kailyn, she's gonna be okay. And look, JJ's okay, Morgan's okay-"
"Blake's not," Spence said softly. Kailyn felt her eyes begin to water, so she took a second to collect herself before continuing, "Yeah. You're right. But she's in a better place now. I know that statement is extremely cliched, but you just-" she paused, thinking back to whatever she just saw, "you just have to trust me. Besides, trying to keep her alive down here wouldn't do her any good. Hell, who knows, maybe she'll be our guardian angel and get us the fuck out of here," she finished, smiling slightly, her pale features making her smile dull as ever. But it still warmed Spencer's heart to see that she was still herself, that her positivity was still a beacon of light in the dark. "Get some rest, Kay. I have to wake you up every few hours to make sure you're still, you know, breathing."
"Ah, I can assure you that you won't be getting rid of me that easy, Doctor Reid," she said softly, making sure she accented the 'doctor' since she knew it made him tick. "You go get sleep too, Spence. I'll see you in a few hours, 'kay?"
"'Kay." God how he hoped she was right.a/n- sorry for the sucky filler chapter, i need to find a way to build to another conflict. i have to replan this story since it's been too long since i've thought about it and i can't remember my original plan. anyways, i hope y'all enjoy, even though it isn't the best, and know there's better chapters coming in the future. oh one last thing- i published another story entitled The Dream, you should go check it out ;)
