Of course, he'd have the most boring professional voicemail on the face of the entire planet.

Here we go. I put the microphone close to my mouth and begin speaking, without having any clue on how to form a sentence..

"Last night, umm.."

No, shit. Speak properly Niki. I shake my head and breath heavily then start speaking again..

"Nini, you've got some major explaining to do. This doesn't just go away by ignoring. You and I need to have a real discussion so call me back when you get this."

No no no no no.

That was way too rude. Stop pretending like he alone created the mess, Niki. Why did you let him?

This is a mess. A whole damn mess. And I need to fix this. Calmly and patiently. He must be going through a lot too.

"I just wanted to make sure you're okay, Nini. There were a lot of emotions flying around yesterday and I, uh.." I sigh, "Can you just check in with me and let me know that you're doing okay? And that we're okay?" I press the send button not before letting out a groan of frustration.

I guess I just have to hope he calls me back at some point. But for now, I've work to do.

Your job is more important, Niki. Stop being such an emotional fool and crying over this and get your ass to work. That's way more important. Sooner or later, we'll sort this out.
