"Now what?" I say outloud.
The whole group looks at me with confused and questioned faces. We stay silent for a moment.
I could tell Bernie was thinking. I liked that about him. Even before this all happened he was always the one I went to for my problems.
His advice was brilliant. He even was building some muscle. He definitely was the little boy scout he was years ago. Now, his ruffled brown hair was dirty from wresting Soulless and his blue eyes were far away.
Nathalie broke me out of my thoughts and the silence.
"I say we stay here. We know the place, we can gather supplies, stay in this house." She pointed to the house begins us."We can survive here."
That started an argument.
"No," Bernie said. "We need to leave. We have a cure and we can help people. We can save others, there no way I can just stay in this neighborhood."
"Well I'm hungry, I haven't eaten in two days. I haven't sleep our drank anything. I can't just go on and save the world." Nathalie replied.
"How could you say that?" Bernie said and then they were yelling at each other at the same time and I couldn't understand either of them.
But for some reason I couldn't speak. I had no idea what to do. To say or to go? I don't know.
I was never good with making decisions. It always takes me time, time we don't have now.
"Shut up!" Jacob yelled suddenly.
Nathalie and Bernie finally stopped bickering.
Jacob had dirty blonde hair and brown eyes. To explain him in a sentence: a man of few words.
Though he never said much, when he did he was smart and actually kind of direct. I went to him when I was sad and he went to me when he didn't feel like explaining himself.
One time he came over to my house and knock on the front door. When I opened the door he said, "got kicked out of my house." And he just slept on my couch (after I convinced my parents).
He had some terrible at home. But I don't really know what and I don't ask.
"Your voices were giving me a headache." Jacob said which made me laugh.
"How about a compromise." I say what Jacob is probaly thinking.
"We stay here for the night, get food, water and some rest. Then decide what to do tomorrow." Jacob explains.
Bernie and Natalie think for a second. Then nod. I do too.
We walk towards the house and knock on the back door to make sure no one is in the house. Luckily no one was.
When we walk inside we walk into the living room. Its a small house abd the kitchen was in the left corner and there was a hallway leading to the left. Must be the bedrooms.
"Check the kitchen for food and water." Bernie said to me. "Check the bedrooms, knock first."He said to Jacob and Natalie.
As I walk to the kitchen I see a package of water bottles on the ground. I open the fridge and all that was there was condiments.
I walk over to some counters and find some cans of peas and carrots.
I grab some water bottles and cans and bring them to the living room and set them on the coffee table.
Bernie was trying to tune a radio when Jacob and Nathalie came in.
"Two bedrooms and a bathroom. Not-"
She stops talking and we all jump, besides Bernie, at the surprise of a car alarm going off down the street.
We go to the front window and I see a Soulless reaching it's hands into the car though the door. I hear screaming.
"We have to help!" I say. But Bernie shakes his head.
"We can't just stand here and watch!" Nathalie yells. She looks as worried as I feel.
"Okay fine. But we have to go all together. Two of us have to hold him back and then one can spit in its mouth-"
But Nathalie wasn't hearing it. She suddenly runs out the door.
