You made your way to Dadaupa Gorge and began your eight-hour long expedition of mining various iron chunks and fighting Hilichurls that stood in your way. You would take breaks in between by eating Apples and Sunsettias that you picked from trees. You tried the best you could to distract yourself from the despair that continues to creep into you.
You were finally in your last 10 minutes so you decided to spend the time recounting your steps to see if you've missed any iron chunks behind. The night has already come, so you did your best to see through the dark.
While checking the rocky side of a mountain, you hear a burst of boisterous laughter erupt behind you. You quickly turned to see a Pyro Abyss Mage. It didn't idle any further as it pointed its wand towards you, summoning a ball of fire that hit you before you could react.
"Agh!" You let out an agonizing groan as you were thrown to the ground. Luckily, you had pyro resistance armor on, but you could still feel the burning sensation slowly creeping up to your nerves. The impact of the fall seemed to have intensified the pain further, as you found it hard to breathe.
"..Damn it.. ugh..." You coughed a few times before glaring at the enemy before you. Its laughter seemingly mocked your fallen figure so you couldn't help but feel the anger burning inside you.
You weren't going to give up, of course. Diluc had taught you several times how to handle ambushes.
'Even if you were to be taken aback, do not falter.'
You slowly stood up so as to not shock your body, and equipped your Claymore weapon, the Favonius Greatsword, in your hand. You closed your eyes, and let Diluc's words resonate in your mind.
'Stay as calm as the wind, compose yourself, feel the power flow through your veins... and strike with all you've got!'
"You've messed with the wrong Knight...!"
You let out a powerful roar as you rushed towards the enemy, unleashing a powerful geo slash that went through the mage's shield, ultimately cutting them in half in a matter of seconds.
The Pyro Abyss Mage was no more, as it turned to ash and was blown away by the wind. You stood for a few moments before dropping on your knees, the claymore disappearing from your hand. You took a deep breath as you finally fell on your side, physical and mental fatigue starting to take over your body.
"I'll be fine... Just taking a break..." you told yourself these comforting words. You feel your eyelids grow heavier by each passing minute you stare at the night sky.
Damn it, I'm so weak... I can't even go on.
You finally give in to your body's call for rest as you close your eyes.
After a while, you feel a pair of arms gently wrap around you.
