A soft sunlight scintillates over your face. You rub your eyes and slowly sit up from your bed. You were in a daze for a few moments before remembering the events that transpired last night. You trace your fingers on the lips that Diluc kissed. You quickly cupped your flushed face in embarrassment.
"T-that wasn't a d-dream, right?!" You squealed as you tried to calm yourself.
There was a knock on your door. Your heart jumped at the sudden sound.
"Yes?"
A familiar voice speaks on the other side of the door.
"It's me."
Of course it's Diluc! What do I do? He doesn't know I was awake at that time, right?! I should pretend to be clueless so things wouldn't get so awkward...
"C-come in!"
Diluc walks into the room, already groomed and dressed in his usual sophisticated getup. It made you conscious of the fact that you had just woken up and unprepared. You quickly start to fix your bed hair.
"I'm s-sorry for sleeping in! I must look like a mess. I'll get ready in a flash!" You did the best you could to talk normally. Diluc nods and crosses his arms. He definitely isn't acting odd and his expression's just his same old nonchalant face. Maybe it was just a dream? Or was he just good at hiding his true feelings?
"Are you feeling better?" He asks you.
"Yeah, and it's all thanks to you! You're the best!" You give him a smile before jumping off the bed. You walked to where your items were hanging. You quickly equipped your armor and stored your inventories as Diluc waited beside you. Of course, his presence alone was enough to make you flustered, though you did a pretty good job in acting casual.
Once you got all of your belongings, you two went outside of Diluc's abode and teleported back to Mondstadt's central plaza. You face the redhead.
"I guess you have to go to work, right?" You say to him as you put both your hands behind you. "Thank you so much, Master Diluc. I very much appreciate the encouragement and treatment you've given me. I'm ready to fight again!"
Diluc gives you a faint smile. "It's nothing. I'm glad you're yourself again..."
You blush at his remarks, getting flustered at his kindness. "Yeah, sorry for making you worry..."
There was a momentary pause between you two. Your heart starts to beat fast once more. Your hands fumbled with one another as you were thinking of something to say.
"Hey! I finally found you, (Name)~" You hear a cheery voice behind you, breaking the silence. You turn around to see Kaeya smiling at you. "Hello too, Diluc."
"Captain Kaeya! It's good to see you!" His presence instantly made you feel relieved of all the tension building up inside. You held his hand in excitement.
"I'm sorry if I wasn't able to come yesterday. I was tired and injured from the expedition..."
"No worries! I know what happened. Take care of yourself more, would you? Your Captain's getting worried." He squeezes your hand and you nod. "I can still treat you to some food. You haven't eaten, have you?"
"Oh yeah, I'm starving! Thanks, Captain Kaeya." You turn to Diluc, who was silently watching the two of you converse with each other. "Master Diluc, please do join us!"
Diluc shook his head. "No thanks, I've eaten already." He crosses his arms and glares at Kaeya. "Besides, I have some matters to do."
"Ah, okay..." For some reason, the tone of his voice became cold. Kaeya smirks and pulls you gently toward him, much to your surprise. He places a hand on your shoulder.
