Chloe woke up calmly the next morning to the sun blinding her tired eyes with its rays. Dempsey slept behind her back with Gideon not in bed with her, he always left early in the mornings. She figured after last night he left way earlier than usual to investigate why what happened had happened.

She was greeted with morning kisses from her guard dog very excited to see her awake. She cringed at his tongue touching her lips like any human would "gross" she giggled then kissing his fur "good morning, Dempsey." She says scratching his favorite spot, behind his ears.

She crawled out of bed and took a quick shower  while Dempsey sat beside the bath with his head tilted watching her shower, he's so loyal he always stayed by her side no matter what. "Your staring Dempsey." Chloe says then Dempsey wagged his tail excitedly seeing he got Chloe's attention.

Wrapping a towel around herself she got on her knees to hug her big dogs neck "you're my main love big guy" she says to her dog who again shakes his tail happily then he licks the water falling from her face. "Okay okay— still gross." She giggled slightly then changing to everyday wear.

She wore one of Gideons big shirts and jeans with black sneakers. She planned to stay home all day anyways. Going back to the kitchen she poured Dempsey a bowl of dog food, he had a eating schedule though he can drink whenever he wanted. "Come eat Dempsey." Chloe says, excitedly the dog ran over and munched down his food.

While Chloe was making herself blueberry pancakes she heard the front door open itself, it could either be two people, Hannah or Gideon. "IM HOME!" She heard a female scream, it's Hannah. "Heyyyyyy" Hannah said coming into the kitchen.

Hannah Mitchell, Wife to Jack Mitchell and best friends to Chloe for as long as they could remember. They just so happened to married Soldiers from the same corporation meaning they get to be together everyday. Gideon and Chloe just allows Hannah to come in whenever she wanted because she's family.

With her she brought her Siberian Husky named Icebreaker. Icebreaker and Dempsey became best friends after a while of them hating each other, they hated each other most when they were first being trained to kill anything and everything that could've been a threat to them. It took a while for them to get along, now all they do is play together when Hannah and Chloe are together.

"Hey" Chloe says while she flipped her cakes over the pan, Hannah sat down at the snack bar and watched her bake. "Pancakes?"

"Yes ma'am" Hannah replies feeling her stomach growl, she had just woken up and came over to the Emery house immediately after showering. "Are we not going to talk about last night or what?"

"What about it?"

"Jack told me what happened, if I was awake and not dead asleep like Joker after his fourth bottle I would've came out and killed him." And she wasn't wrong, though they both had K-9's, Hannah has always been a type to fight someone for someone special. This was one of the reasons that Jack decided he wanted to marry her.  That someone special being Chloe, she's always been the one to fight someone in order to protect Chloe. She was like a little sister to her who she always wanted safe.

"Dempsey did good, he was growling at the door for a long time before I actually looked to see what was the matter. Who knows what would've happened to me and Gideon if it wasn't for him." Hearing his name again, Dempsey looked away from Icebreaker with his head tilted and shaking his tail looking at Chloe "I see you staring dog." Dempsey hopped up and set his paws on Chloe's thighs "hey I can't touch you, you're dirty and I'm baking."
With that said, Dempsey and Icebreaker ran around the apartment chasing after each other, usually Icebreaker was always in the lead and once Dempsey caught him they would play fight.

"Do you know where they went?"

"To see what happened. I guess to see how he broke in." Hannah shrugged "Jack said you stabbed the guy"

"In his arm..."

Hannah tilts her head and her face scrunched as she was gonna tease her "I'm so proud of you!" She whined in a high voice "my babies growing so fast!"

Chloe tilts her head so confused but she didn't give much thought to it, shaking her head she went back to her pancakes. She gave herself and Hannah both two cakes and they did what they wanted with them.

Hannah had syrup, butter, and whip cream while Chloe added actual blueberries with hers, it just adds to the blueberry flavor.

While the two ate their breakfast in silence they listened to the dogs fight in the living room like children. Hearing Icebreaker scream his high pitch dog scream the two looked over and seen Dempsey had won the alpha rank in this fight. Biting the dogs neck then Icebreaker broke out and jumped on Dempsey knocking him down, another biting war went off. "Hey!" Hannah hisses then the two dogs quickly sat up and looked at them both shaking their tails, they tilt their heads pretending to be innocent angels, Icebreaker let his tongue hang down his snout. "Chill out."

"Dempsey go lay down." Chloe says

"Icebreaker, lay down." Hannah adds

The two dogs ran towards Chloe and Gideons couch. Icebreaker chose the couch while Dempsey seemed to have changed his mind and he laid on Gideons big cloudy leathered chair and used the arm rest as a pillow. His favorite spot to sleep in when it's not the bed.

"They're strange creatures." Hannah speaks up as the two watched the boys be children.

"So strange...."
