Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
Cornish Pixies"If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all."
Professor Sprout's Classroom
The Next DayThe second year students were in the Herbology greenhouses when Liv, Hermione and Roni entered the class. But as they did, Pansy, Goyle and Crabbe all eyed Liv in laughs. "Detention. On the first day?" Goyle asked and the three girls gave the three Slytherins a dirty look.
"I mean, come on. That must be some record!" Crabbe exclaimed.
"Even got your brother and his friend in trouble. You're just a wreck aren't you?" Pansy asked and Liv glared at her. "You should count yourself lucky. Professor Snape only let you go because you remind him of your dead mother."
Liv eyed her as angry fumed up her body and everyone else stared at the two in shock. "I should think you'd mind your own business, Parkinson," Liv grumbled then Draco walked up behind Pansy.
"What's going on here?" He asked and Pansy quickly looked at him, with her eyes lit up once she saw him.
"Oh, hi Draco," she said in a dream like haze. Liv rolled her eyes at the girl, who obviously had a crush on Draco. Liv couldn't figure out why because he wasn't exactly nice, except to her. "Nothing is happening. Just telling Liv here how silly it is she already got detention," Pansy continued before she looked at Liv. Hermione scoffed before she crossed her arms.
"That is not what happened!" Hermione snapped but Pansy looked at her like she didn't know what she was talking about.
"Then what happened?" Pansy asked as Draco looked intrigued at what happened.
"You-" Hermione started to say.
"Hermione. It's fine," Liv said.
"It is not fine! She brought up your mother!" Roni snapped and Pansy glared at the girls as Draco looked at Pansy in uncertainty.
Then Harry walked up to his sister and her friends. "Liv? What is this?" Harry asked and Liv continued to glare at Pansy.
"Just another fan of the Ones Who Lived," Liv said but then Professor Sprout walked in and everyone sat in their seats, but before class started, Liv leaned over to Pansy. "Don't ever bring up my mother again. Ever!"
Pansy ended up getting up and sitting somewhere else, away from Liv and her friends. Draco sat in Pansy's once seat, across from Liv, and smirked at her.
Professor Sprout, a squat little witch, tapped her wand on a stack of pots. "Welcome to Greenhouse Three, Second Years. Today, we will be re-potting Mandrakes. Now, who here can tell me the properties of the Mandrake?" Sprout asked and as usual, Hermione shot her hand in the air. "Yes, Miss Granger."
"Mandrake, or Mandragora, is used to return those who have been transfigured to their original state. It's also quite dangerous. The Mandrake's cry is fatal to anyone who hears it," Hermione explained.
"Excellent. Ten points to Gryffindor," Sprout said and Hermione smiled then she and Liv quietly High-fived. "As our Mandrakes are only seedlings, their cries won't kill yet. However, they will knock you out for several hours. That is why I have provided each of you with a pair of earmuffs." The class put their earmuffs on hesitantly and nervously. When the class was ready, Sprout grabbed one of the Tufty Plants before her, and then she pulled.
Instead of roots, a small, muddy, extremely ugly baby pops out of the Earth, leaves growing right out of its head. Liv cringed a little as she saw the baby cry out then she looked at Draco, who placed his hands over his earmuffs, to cover his ears even more. Then her attention was placed onto Neville, who had fainted.
