Even Sirius's betrayal couldn't keep me miserable for long, though I refused to talk to him longer than necessary at the feast. The food was grand, and even though my mother was an amazing cook, nothing could top the delicacies of Hogwarts.
I reached for a treacle tart, my hand grazing someone else's.
"My bad," I apologized looking up to see who it was. I immediately hardened my gaze though when I saw Sirius's silver eyes staring back at me. I snatched the last tart, taking a slow bite and never averting my eyes from his. He cocked his head before ripping away his eyes and going back to his food.
Remus, who noticed our interaction. raised his eyebrows at me. I bit my lip, giving him a "We'll talk later look" knowing that if I said anything I'd burst into tears.

"So," pondered Remus, his lips curled upwards in a smirk. "Whatever happened with Sirius?"
"Oh nothing good," I scowled, turning his smirk into a frown.
"Really?" he turned towards me curiously, his ideas about us falling in love disappearing quickly.
"It's complete rubbish!" I cried, emotion leaking from my voice. "I was going to talk to him and ask him if he was jealous because he just keeps asking me about you-"
Remus's frown deepened, his eyebrows furrowing.
"Oh yes!" I shrieked, throwing my hands up in the air. "He just keeps going on and on about how I fancy you and wondering if I want to date you and of course I don't like you that way, no offense mate but I don't, so I wanted to confront him and then what do you know? The famous Sirius Black is kissing that stupid Slytherin slut, the one that's in her seventh year and I know I shouldn't expect any better because HE'S THE BIGGEST PLAYER!"
I curled up in a ball, watching an opened mouth Remus process everything I said.
"It's stupid," I said quietly. "I don't know why I keep getting my hopes up even though he crushes them every time."
Remus hugged me, and I sighed, realizing that no one would ever smell better than Sirius.

A bright light flashed and I stirred awake, almost screaming when I saw Sirius staring down at me.
"You creep!" I hissed, clenching my fists. "What the hell is wrong with you??"
He covered my mouth with his hand and lifted me up, his glowing wand in one of his hands. I pushed away from him, my eyes drooping with tiredness.
"Again, what is wrong with you and what are you doing?" I fought the urge to slap him in the face, staring daggers at him. And then I remembered, I never went back upstairs to the girls' dorms. I looked around me, trying to make out the Gryffindor common room. I followed the light from Sirius's wand and saw Remus curled up on the couch I had just been laying on.
"Oh for Merlin's sake!" I grabbed his wand, extinguishing the light, and pushed him back towards the boys' dorm. "Why do you keep doing this?"
He leaned in closer to me, and I could feel his breath on my face. "I dunno, Willow."
I stifled a gasp. He never called me Willow, never.
"Is something wrong Sirius?" I whispered, pursing my lips in fear. "Are you okay?"
He looked at me, pain flickering through his eyes. "I don't feel so good."
I smacked my head against the wall. The stupid idiot had gotten himself drunk.
"Where were you?" I asked, trying to lift him up from the floor.
"I was with Cole... she's a really good kisser..." he mumbled, stumbling up the steps.
"Requel Cole?" I asked, thinking of the quiet Ravenclaw 6th year. I was amazed that Sirius had broken through her shell. "Were you guys drinking?"
Sirius looked at me with a lazy smile on his lips. "Yeah... we snuck in the kitchens.."
He giggled and I almost laughed. "I asked her to make me a love potion.. shes really smart."
I stopped abruptly. "A love potion?"
He stopped too and leaned in so close our noses were touching. "For you of course."
A thousand thoughts ran through my head. I couldn't believe this dumbass. He tried to get a love potion to use on me? Of all people, didn't he know I'd be the easiest one to succumb to his charm? But I was so mad. If he hadn't gotten so drunk I would have fallen for his stupid prank.
I grabbed him by the collar just as he leaned in even closer, pulling him up the stairs.
"Heyyyy let go of mee!" he cried, trying to grab my hips.
"No!" I yelled at him. "You are the worst person I've ever met you disgusting, toerag wanker!"
He was quiet then, as I pulled him up the stairs forcefully, dragging him to his room.
"And Sirius?" I growled, even though I knew he wouldn't remember a thing in the morning. "Throw away that potion and never, ever talk to me again."
He grinned at me spitefully. "Yes, my love."
