Picking the box I carried it over to the stallion to see him take a few steps back I carried on forward placing the box down a couple paces in front of him, picking up a brush that would allow me to get all the dirt and excess hair out, I moved forward just for him to toss his head and take a few steps back I held out the brush the same way I held the apple and let him sniff it, he nudged it with his nose a couple of times then left it.
I carried on moving forward holding the brush I started to groom down his back being extra gentle around his still healing wounds, I kept brushing him from his neck to the rest of his body, I eventually moved onto his face then mane and tail each time picking up a new brush presenting it in front of him for inspection before continuing with my work, after about two hours of continues grooming I managed to make him look inky black and the white Patch on his eye actually looked white now instead of a murky brown it was also the same for the White strip in his tail.
I had even reapplied the healing cream to his wounds the only thing I hadn’t done was pick out his feet, looking at the quality of his hoofs they were in a good shape just needed cleaning, after remembering the last time I came in contact with a horse’s hoof made me flinch at the thought. I picked up the hoof pick once again holding it in front of his face allowing him to inspect yet another item out of the box; he lifted his head away from it allowing me to get closer, running my hand over his shoulder slowly making my way down his front leg careful not to scare him.
I gently massaged his foot allowing him to know that I wasn’t going to hurt him I wrapped my hand around his foot carefully pulling it up he tried to pull away but I held on allowing him to get his balance of three legs before quickly clearing any dirt or stone that were stuck in the tracks of his feet. I did the same with the other front foot before making my way to his back feet running my hand along his back as I went.
I trailed my hand down his leg for him to stamp his foot I jumped away clutching my chest where my heart is, my pulse going what felt like 100 beats a second, I took a deep breath to calm me down I looked at the stallion to see him looking at me, picking up what courage I had left I walked back over to the stallion got into a strong position and pulled his foot up with a little bit of struggle and a small game of tug of war I managed to hold onto his hoof and clean it making sure it was perfect I repeated what I had done with the other hoof and finally finished the grooming process.
Leaning up against the raining I watch the stallion drinking from the large water trough, he looked much better now you wouldn’t have even been able to tell he was attacked if it wasn’t for the white cream that was layered on his back. Picking up all of the brushes and giving them a quick clean I put everything back in is assigned place and put it back on the other side of the railing.
Sliding myself back through the railing I pick up the grooming box and the numna left on the railing edge and walk back to the house, I enter through the doors to find my Auntie cooking Dinner, I roll my eyes at her failed attempt to turn on the grill, I see her reach out for a takeout menu just as I enter my room, placing the box in an empty space near the door and laying the padded fabric on top I walk into my bath room have a relaxing shower and do everything I need to do in there, I walk back into my room with a towel wrapped around my body, my hair in wet waves tumbling down my back.
I got changed into an oversized T-shirts and shorts, and then towel dried my hair, I quickly shoved it up into a messy bun and walked in the kitchen when my auntie was plating up pizza the box half stuck out of the bin. “Here you go sweetie you won’t get food poisoning off of this” she claimed with a smile on her face, I gratefully took the plate full of pizza replying with a “thank you” I sat at the table at ate till I finished I proceeded to wash up my plate before heading to bed.
