𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝟒"Oh my gosh Iwa," groans Matsukawa. "Are you gonna ask her that one question about-"
"No, I'm saving that for another time," Iwaizumi replies, quickly turning his attention back to you. You were eager to know what was on his mind. All the other boys seemed intrigued as well, for they were all silent.
"Sorry about that," he continues. "So, out of all of us, who would you let take you on a date?"
The guys gasp, just as shocked as you were by his question. You barely knew any of them except for the fact that they seemed to all share a single brain cell. Half the boys turn to look at you, curious about your response.
Suddenly it felt as if walls of pressure were caving in on you. There were multiple pairs of eyes on you and you weren't sure who to say. Despite just meeting them you didn't want to hurt any of their feelings. To you, it didn't matter who you said but to them it probably did. Their eyes gleamed excitedly.
"She doesn't have to answer that," Oikawa spoke up and a wave of relief washed over you. At least someone sensed you feeling overwhelmed. The caving walls of pressure were gone thanks to him.
"No, no it's fine Oikawa," you reply, looking at each individual. Oikawa's response was just what you needed. "I'd let Oikawa take me out on a date."
"Kawa-chan?" repeats a surprised and jealous Yahaba.
"I mean, are we surprised? He pulls all the girls anyway," Kindaichi contributes with a sigh, resting his chin on his hand.
You remember what Izumi had said about Oikawa. How he had cheated on his ex with multiple girls. At the party, you even saw him talking with another girl. Why did it bother you so much? Why did you feel like a rock sat in your stomach? You had just met this guy.
"To be fair, she has talked to me the most, and I am paying for her meal," Oikawa said, ignoring Kindaichi's comment. Was he wrong? No. Although it did contribute a part to why you would pick him, most of it was because he noticed you felt overwhelmed. While the others were eager for your reply, he had noticed your uneasiness.
"So? What does that have to do with-"
Ping! went your phone, pulling your attention away from Iwaizumi. It was a text from Kageyama asking you to grab food with him. A text like that was rather strange from Kageyama. Most texts in the past were about volleyball or homework. At practices, he never asked you to do anything. You were about to reply until the waitress walked up to the table with everyone's food.
A few of the guys had decided on getting the meat bun party pack and to split the bill. You had decided to get your own plate of meat buns, as well as Oikawa. Steam arose from your plate, making your mouth water.
After the food and plates were distributed the table grew quieter as the boys were shoving their faces, occasionally talking amongst one another. You ate in silence, your meat buns were too delicious to stop eating. They were perfectly warm and melted with each bite.
Everyone finished eating rather quickly and it wasn't long until the table grew loud once more. They spoke about Nationals and how they had hoped to win this year. The waitress came back to the table, handing everyone their bills. As he claimed to do so earlier, Oikawa covered for your meal.
"Thanks for paying," you tell him as you slide out of the booth and make your way for the exit. "I promise I'll pay you back."
"Pay me back? How so?" the tall boy questions as he holds the door open for you as you walk out.
